Before the HowExpert people hired me to write my cat care book for them to publish (see link in my profile if you're interested in checking out my book), they asked me to submit a writing sample on my topic - with the guideline that it should be in the form of a Top 10 list.

When I submitted it, I had NO idea they would turn it into a video! One day the idea popped into my head to do a Google search of some of the exact phrasing of my writing sample to see if there was anything floating around the Internet with it - and voila! This video came up. I watched (listened to) it and compared it to my submission, and sure enough, it's word-for-word the copy that I wrote.

All the words are mine, but the weird visuals are absolutely NOT mine - and it's clear to me that they used AI (and not a very advanced AI) to source them because most of the visuals don't really match what I was talking about (is kinda funny, actually!). Also, my words are on the screen along with the weird visuals... but the video and audio are weirdly out of synch.

I finally figured out that I could use my screen recorder to post my cat care video to Insta, so that's what I'm doing, since it is technically my own work.

It's a little long, but it's good information for cat guardians - and I did my best to punch up my writing for it, so it's fun and not dry info. Check it out if you are so inclined!

Wookie Style Tattoo in Chandler, AZ, does an annual Su***de Awareness event, although they promote the cause all year long. At the event, they do free semicolon tattoos (the semicolon representing the idea that a person could have chosen to end their sentence, but hopefully chose to continue).

For just a little more than free, they have specialty semicolons that they will do to donate to the cause, and this is mine. I was so excited they had a cat version! They also have a raffle for different items (I donated some free and/or discounted pet-sitting services from Crystal the Pet Nanny), and they also take straight donations for the cause.

Queen reminded us back in the day: Don’t Try Su***de, and - having had some scary thoughts nearly a year ago of entertaining the idea - but coming through the other side, I have to agree.

Goodbye, sweet friend. This is the toughest part of my job... and the part that people don't often think about when they think about what we do as sitters. It's not all cuddles and kisses - although that is a big portion of it.

On his last night in this earthly plane, his friend, my sitter Teresa, cuddled with him on the sofa and gave him lovies all night, knowing it was coming to the end of the road for him. I joined her in the morning and we said our goodbyes.

Not gonna lie: It's really rough. Grief is hard. Be gentle with yourself when you go through it, and curb your expectations.
