Alpha Valley Boarding Kennel is seeking workers to help in the daily care of beloved pets from all over Jackson County.

For employees without experience we start workers off at minimum wage with a dollar raise after 90 days and regular opportunities for additional raises after that.

Potential employees with veterinary or assisted living experience start at $13.50 with a dollar raise after 90 days. With good performance they will be awarded raises at 6 month intervals.

Ideal applicants will have a naturally affinity for animals, be communicative, efficiency minded and have an eye for details. All dogs are individuals and all dogs require individual care, so a person who understands that is absolutely required.

Must be available in the mornings from 8am to 1pm. Maximum hours offered is 25-30 a week with a minimum of 10 hours a weeks.

On September the 8th Alpha Valley Boarding Kennel was evacuated due to the Almeda Fire.

Through the power of community and the sheer generosity of good friends we were able to rescue nearly 70 animals from the Alpha Valley premises. These are just a few.

And the kennel still stands! We could not be more grateful.

Now that we have power and water returned Alpha Valley Boarding Kennel wants to help!

We are willing to board up to 5 large dogs and 5 cats free of charge for long term stays.

We have chosen these specific types of animals due to the difficulty inherent in housing them for long terms in unfamiliar circumstances.

We are also offering reduced rates for victims of the Almeda Fire who maybe just need a night off.

Alpha Valley Boarding Kennel stands.

We are displaced due to lack of power and water

We, and a team of dedicated employees and friends, rescued more then 40 animals from the fires.

Upon return we found a burned chunk of wood that landed on concrete. The concrete below it was singed. If it had landed anywhere else the kennel would be gone.

We are so grateful.

When power returns we will be doing our part to help to the community. If you have any ideas about how we can be more useful, please let us know in the comments below.

Ultra the Great Pyrenees lives around the corner from the Kennel with her family.

On this particular occasion she had escaped her yard at home and came straight to the kennel! Someone heard the other dogs and wanted to play!

We do Daycare as well Overnight Boarding. If your dog is going to stir crazy in the house, why not a day at the kennel to tire them out?

Wesley the Rough Collie has been a staple of our Group Playtimes for years and this is the first time another Collie was able to play with him!

Honee was new to the kennel, and it's thanks to Wesley that she adjusted to the kennel so perfectly.

Group playtime is monitored by a staff member and only ever include dogs that both the owner of the dog and Kyrstin approve for Group.

Regarding COVID-19...

At Alpha Valley we have always prided ourselves on consistent and daily sanitizing of the surfaces in the kennel and in the office. In order to maintain social distance guidelines we are now taking payments over the phone or by cash or check which we will take via a gloved hand.

For pick up and drop offs we ask that all our clients call to let us know they are here and we will come out to them.

In addition to these changes we are now offering FREE OUT OF HOURS PICK UP AND DROP OFF FOR DAYCARE.

If you are an essential worker with long hours and need to find somewhere for your pup to be loved on and cared for during that time, consider daycare at Alpha Valley! You can drop off as early as 5 am and pick up as late as 8 pm. Call 541-535-2243 to schedule.
