My summertime reminder to my dog loving friends in the desert: the water in your garden hose can be extremely hot. Let the water run for a moment before spraying yourself, your kids, or your dogs with the water. "According to Phoenix Fire Department Captain Larry Subervi, water in a hose sitting in the sun can become as hot as 150 degrees.
“At those temperatures, something as short as a 10- or 30-second exposure can result in a second-degree burn,” said Subervi."
