🥵 It’s far too hot to even think about hiking, and while it may not seem like it, it will eventually cool down. 🙏🏼 And when that time comes, Andy can’t wait to hit the trails with YOU! 🦮 Andy is easy to walk and loves hiking! 🥾 He would be overjoyed to accompany you on any kind of walk, whether it’s just around the neighborhood or something longer and farther out. ⛰️

While we can’t hike for a couple months yet, NOW would be a great time to get to know Andy in your home and start working on leash skills and your relationship while it’s still hot!🧡

Even the most steadfast fosters wrestle with the idea of “foster failing” sometimes. Many of us step into this world with the mindset that we don’t adopt, so we can keep our homes open to save more dogs. But every once in a while, a dog comes along who challenges that rule—a dog who plants a seed of what if?

Kingston was one of those dogs.

He came to us after a kind-hearted woman scooped him up from a Walmart parking lot, where he was being given away for free. In Arizona, that could’ve ended badly—so we’re grateful she acted fast.

From the moment he arrived, we were absolutely obsessed. Kingston is one of the wildest, funniest, most endearing puppies we’ve ever met. He has a mind of his own and comes up with the most ridiculous, hilarious antics every single day. More than one PPZ foster looked at him and thought, “Maybe just this once…”

But we knew the right thing to do was let him go and give him the gift of the perfect forever family.

And look at him now!! Wrestling like a maniac, exploring the world one adventure at a time, and being adored beyond words. He’s living the dream: deeply spoiled, constantly entertained, and giving back tenfold in laughs and love.

The rescue world can be heavy. We’re all feeling it. But then our pups gets adopted, and we see glimpses into their wonderful new lives, and for a few minutes, the darkness lifts and the chaos fades so that we remember exactly why we keep going.

Life has felt pretty heavy in the rescue world lately, but we have some THRILLING adoption posts coming this week!! Let’s kick them off by celebrating MILANO!! 🍪

Milano was adopted earlier this year as a puppy and then returned a few weeks ago when the family split up, and neither wanted to take him with them. He came back to rescue with anxiety and kennel stress. 💔

It all changed in his loving foster home as he learned the boundaries and how to play with his K9 siblings. 😍 This lil angel gained the confidence he needed and has been adopted by an amaaaazing family who already has one PPZ alum! 🐶

We are OVERJOYED for this darling boy! 🥳 His days are filled with so much play and love, and we know that he has found the perfect family for him. Congratulations, Milano!

Rest in peace little one💔
This tiny pup, only 4 weeks old was found all alone in the desert. No momma or other pups. Just a tiny, fragile baby.
We named him Rune — a name full of mystery and strength — because even in his weakness, he was a little warrior. We tried everything to save him. Fluids, medications, syringe feedings, love. He fought hard. So did we. But his body was just not strong enough and it gave out.
For the short time Rune was with us, he knew love. He was held, comforted, and loved. He didn’t leave this world alone.
We’re so grateful to Dr. Johnson and the incredible team at Sun City West Animal Hospital who gave him every possible chance. His care and cremation totaled just over $300 — if you’re able to donate, it would help us keep saying yes to the next desperate soul who needs a chance.
Rune’s story may have been short, but he mattered. Every single one does. 💔

🌼 Daisy is a darling 8 month old pittie mix full of love, joy, and puppy energy! She’s done an amazing job adjusting to life in a home and is thriving with her foster family.

She adores her foster brother and spends her days playing with toys, soaking up affection, and snoozing away in the cool A/C. 💤 Daisy is playful, sweet, and always ready for fun or snuggles!

She’s fully vetted, house- and kennel-trained, dog friendly, and loves all people! ✅ (Cats untested.) If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate companion, Daisy just might be your girl. 🤞🏼

We’re taking it way-back-when today with our favorite Woman Crush Wednesday: Smoochie!! 😘

This girl has had the BEST SUMMER! 🤩
- Temp foster home with LOTS of dogs to play nonstop with!
- Learned to swim in the pool and now swims for hours throughout the day!
- Was loved and ADORED by everyone at Top Dog Boarding

Smoochie has been thriiiving in her new environment with lots of training, mental stimulation, physical exercise, and so many cuddles. She continues to be one of the absolute FUNNIEST DOGS we’ve ever met with the weirdest, silliest personality and love as deep as the ocean. 😂

We can’t say enough about her other than you are 100% missing out on not having met her. Every day is brighter, goofier, and better with Smoochie in it. 💯
