Today is National Pet Day. Let's celebrate our own pawsome pets and also those in need whether they're in shelters or pets who need food.

As a pet owner, here are some reminders to ensure the safety and well being of your fur babies. 💜🐾

🐾 Check collars to ensure tags are secure and numbers are current. We sometimes forget to update this information when we move or change numbers. Make sure microchips are up to date. Is your emergency contact still the same phone #?

🐾 Back up plan! Anything could happen, and if something were to happen to you make sure there is a plan for your pets.

🐾 Verify when vaccinations are due and schedule an appointment to update if they are due. Distemper and parvo are very active and contagious diseases in Arizona currently, and can both be picked up from outside your home and hitch a ride back to your home on shoes, clothing, etc.

🐾 Go through your fur baby toys. Throw away any items that are no longer safe.
