💙💛 Fun fact about blue-based cream long-haired dachshunds is that they go through a surprising color transformation as they grow! Yes, this is the same dog from birth to 2 years of age.

✨️ Born a mystery: When they’re born, these adorable pups often appear solid blue-gray with little to no visible cream markings. Their soft puppy fur hasn't yet developed the full contrast of their adult coat.

☀️ Sunlight surprise: As they age, their cream color will start to emerge, usually around the face, chest, and paws. The blue color will also fade or lighten, giving way to a traditional blonde coat with some blue streaks showing, especially in sunlight.

📸 Dramatic reveal: By the time they reach adulthood, their coat can look dramatically different—often a mix of soft cream with blue shading, especially along the back and ears. This gradual change makes them an exciting breed to watch as they grow since you never quite know how their final coat will settle!
