💥Micro Seramas.

Since everyone and their mother wants ‘Micro’ Seramas I thought I would make this post. 💁🏻‍♀️
Yes, Micros are precious and adorable beyond words but they don’t come without their challenges. ❤️‍🩹
No, I do not offer separate Micro eggs. If you get Micro eggs from me it does not mean they will hatch a Micro Serama. (I always pair up my Micros with standard size Seramas to avoid issues that are listed below.)

✨Their small size makes them more vulnerable to injuries and stress like extreme temperatures or changes in diet.

✨Their tiny size also means they have higher metabolic rates, which can lead to issues like dehydration or malnutrition if not carefully monitored.

✨Hens due to their compact bodies may experience issues like egg binding, where the egg gets stuck in the reproductive tract, which can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. They also tend to not lay at all.

✨Micro Roosters suffer fertility issues.

One should not intentionally breed for Micro size but they do hatch from regular sized Seramas. I enjoy having them around but they are not a primary focus in my breeding program.

Had to bring Goldy the Serama inside last night. Poor guy is taking his sweet time molting and it’s getting cold at night. 🕺🥶
