We’ve always believed a rescue is only as strong as its foster base.
Behind every dog that makes it out of the shelter, there’s a foster who said yes—and meant it. Not just when it’s easy, but when it’s inconvenient. When there are accidents, vet visits, behavior challenges, schedule changes… real life.
Because the truth is, rescue is rarely easy. But the dogs we save don’t need perfect—they need commitment. They need someone who will stay, work through it, and not give up when things aren’t ideal. Fosters like that are everything to us.
Salem was saved just that way. If it weren’t for her foster family saying yes, she wouldn’t be here with us today. And not only did they save her life once—they continue to choose her every single day.
When she didn’t immediately fit in with their pack, they didn’t give up. They listened, followed training guidance to a T, put in the time working on structure, commands, and consistency every single day. They worked through the challenges instead of walking away from them. And because of that, Salem is now thriving in their home.
Fosters like this are the reason we can keep saying yes. The reason we don’t have to worry about dogs being returned when things get tough. The reason more lives are saved.
When you commit to a foster dog, you’re not just helping one—you’re making space for the next, and the next, and the next. That’s how rescue works. And that’s how we keep going.
