Ever since I bought this house, I knew the dark beige walls and black floors weren’t the vibe for our sunshine-loving Suncatchers. I always imagined bright, light-filled walls that reflected the warmth and joy of our sanctuary.
But, of course, the house had a few surprises for me. 😅 Recently I discovered the paint just peels right off, most likely due to the previous owners not prepping the walls correctly. So for the past several weeks, I’ve been spending my days slowly peeling away layers of old paint while the Suncatchers sit nearby, supervising (aka not helping, but definitely judging me from the corner.) 😹
It’s incredibly tedious work, but every bare patch feels like progress. Bit by bit, we’re creating the foundation for a brighter, happier space—one that truly feels like a sanctuary. Once the walls are done, the next big step will be to cattify the house with shelves, perches, and vertical hangouts so our senior and special needs cats can enjoy more vertical space.
It’s a long road ahead, but I’m determined to make this home as full of life, light, and love as the Suncatchers who live here and those who are waiting for a safe place to land. Please keep rooting for me because I can definitely use some motivation😂💛
