This last weekend was truly a remarkable experience at the WTA competitions in Green Bay. I entered a deer in the Open Division, with the intent of doing better than last year. I was chasing a blue ribbon with my piece and completely prepped myself to be content with a 2nd place ribbon. Everyone had such beautiful taxidermy work, where I felt mine was just not even comparable to the other work in the room. I was not emotionally prepared to hear my name called for a Choice award from Tomorrow River Graphics. I was amazed that they chose mine. And from there, I was presented with other awards: Most Artistic Whitetail Award (Ohio Taxidermy Supply), the Pro-1 Award (Pro-1 Perfomance Chemicals), the Award of Excellence in Whitetail Taxidermy(Whitetails Unlimited), Best of Category: Whitetail Deer Pedestal Mount, and the BLUE RIBBON. What an honor and humbling experience to receive such prestigious awards. Thank you to the WTA for hosting such an amazing show every year with the main goal of improving the work and educating members.

Wrapping up my taxidermy workshop with Blacktimber Taxidermy in Colorado from this week. An investment, well worth every penny, to gain further knowledge in my primary focus in this business, whitetail deer. Thank you Gary for sharing your expertise to really make my future mounts come to life.

I entered one of my personal bucks in the WTA show this past weekend. I brought home a 3rd 🥉 and got some great info/tips on some minor improvements that can be made to really enhance my quality. I tried a couple techniques on this piece that I’ve never tried before, and it was great to get the thoughts of some of the best taxidermists in the state to let me know how I did on those. Looking forward to the next show, and new ideas are already in the making for my next piece. Thank you to WTA for holding such a wonderful show and the opportunities for every member to grow.

I entered this deer in Wisconsin Taxidermists Association competition. This was my first time entering anything and am very pleased with the second place ribbon I brought home.
