Cheeseburger is a big, shy sweetheart with a heart of gold. Though his round cheeks and fluffy frame might make him look bold, he’s actually a gentle, sensitive guy who likes to take things at his own pace. He loves lounging up high and quietly observing the world around him.
Once he feels safe, Cheeseburger becomes incredibly affectionate. Chin scratches earn loud purrs, dramatic belly rolls, and plenty of cuddly charm. He also loves wet food often so enthusiastically that he ends up with adorably messy whiskers afterward.
Cheeseburger enjoys the company of other cats and would likely thrive with a confident feline companion to help him feel comfortable, though it’s not required. Because large open spaces can overwhelm him, he’d do best in a cozy, calm space to start with someone who understands cat body language and will give him the patience and reassurance he needs to blossom.
Currently fostered in West Philadelphia, Cheeseburger is looking for a loving forever home where he can truly shine.

MOTHER’S DAY SPECIAL🌸

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible mama cats who give everything they have for their babies. The ones who protect, nurture, teach, comfort, and somehow still find room in their hearts to trust people again after all they’ve been through.

To honor them, Zoom’s adoption fee will be WAIVED if she’s adopted with her mom Zelda before the end of the month!

Zelda and her daughter Zoom are the perfect example of why keeping bonded families together matters so much. Their previous family decided they no longer wanted them once they started shedding their luscious coats this spring, but despite that heartbreak, these girls remain unbelievably loving, affectionate, and deeply connected to each other.

Zelda is a gentle, expressive lap cat with stunning green eyes, tiny little bleps, and a habit of reaching up dramatically for pets throughout the day because she simply must be included in whatever you’re doing. She loves window watching, couch lounging, interactive play, and giving tiny nose kisses when she’s feeling especially affectionate.

Zoom, meanwhile, is pure joyful chaos in kitten form. Curious, athletic, endlessly social, and always involved, she chirps around the house with her adorable baby meow, investigates every water cup she can find, and turns absolutely everything into an adventure. She’s hilarious, affectionate, and completely obsessed with both people and her mom.

And together? They’re magic.

They cuddle together, play together, seek each other out constantly, and bring out the best in one another. Zoom gains confidence and comfort from Zelda, and Zelda clearly adores having her daughter nearby.

There’s something really special about watching a mama cat finally get the happy ending she deserves with her baby beside her.
If you’ve been considering adopting, this is your sign to keep a family together this Mother’s Day. They bring out the best in one another. All that’s missing is their forever family!

Ps. If Zelda & Zoom are adopted before the end of the month, we will extend this special to another mama kitten duo currently in our care. Please follow, like, share and engage with this post so we can help make that happen!

Community Update Regarding One of Our Cats

It has come to our attention that individuals have been posting in multiple groups claiming that a cat in our care was ‘stolen,’ along with multiple other false statements about our organization and our practices.

We want to address this directly and provide accurate context.

This elder cat was living fully outdoors during extreme winter conditions and an active “code blue” and was not microchipped or identified as an owned cat. Her long-term local caretaker reached out to us out of concern for her safety and well-being and requested assistance. Based on that request, and in line with our mission, we took the cat in, secured a foster placement, and ensured she received proper veterinary care.

Since entering foster, she has successfully transitioned to indoor life, formed a strong bond in her placement, and is now thriving in a safe, stable, indoor home.

At no point did our organization knowingly take or withhold a cat from a confirmed owner. As with all cases, we acted based on the information available at intake and in the best interest of the animal.

We take claims of ownership seriously. However, such claims must be supported through appropriate, verifiable channels not through public accusations or social media posts that spread misinformation and place undue pressure on a small, volunteer-run rescue and its team.

We are also aware that two volunteers have been targeted and harassed in connection with this situation. This behavior is not acceptable.

Most importantly, we will not place any animal back into a situation that compromises its safety or long-term well-being.

We will be moderating comments to maintain a respectful and fact-based space. If you encounter posts containing inaccurate information about this situation, we encourage you to report them to group administrators and meta moderators for review.

We remain committed to transparency, responsible rescue practices, and doing what is right for the animals in our care. We appreciate those who continue to support our work and remain committed to helping animals in need.

🌎🐾 Earth Day looks like this, too!

Trap Neuter Return (TNR) is one of the most effective, humane ways to reduce the impact of outdoor cat populations on local wildlife while improving the lives of the cats already here.

And when a cat is friendly, whisking them away into a forever home means one less animal struggling on the streets and one more living safely indoors.

Better for wildlife. Better for cats. Better for our communities.

Community cats are not a “problem” to get rid of. They are living beings who have been abandoned, displaced, and let down by humans. They deserve kind, effective management.

Yet across the U.S., animal control agencies and shelters continue to round up healthy outdoor cats and kill them. This does not work. It does not reduce populations. It does not protect wildlife. They kill because old policies tell them to.

This must stop.

TNR (Trap‑Neuter‑Return) is the only method shown to:

- reduce outdoor cat populations humanely
- stabilize colonies without the vacuum effect
- prevent endless litters
- reduce shelter intake and euthanasia
- protect public health
- save taxpayer money
- support the caregivers who do what cities refuse to do

Every place that has adopted TNR sees the same results: fewer kittens born, fewer cats suffering, fewer cats entering shelters, and fewer cats dying. Killing ferals does nothing.

It doesn’t reduce numbers.
It doesn’t protect wildlife.
It doesn’t solve complaints.
It just creates a vacuum, invites new unsterilized cats in, and starts the cycle over again, with more death, more cost, and more cruelty.
**The United States needs one standard:**
TNR as the default, protected, nationwide policy.

No more feeding bans.
No more “nuisance” ordinances.
No more punishing caregivers.
No more rounding up cats to die in back rooms.

Community cats are a community responsibility, and killing them means the community has failed.

It’s time for every city, every county, and every state to stop hiding behind old policies and adopt the only kind, effective, science-supported approach: TNR. Everywhere. Now.

So similar to Sabrina’s story!

So similar to Sabrina’s story!

Ear tips matter and JJ’s story is a perfect, heartbreaking reminder of why. 😻

JJ showed up at a managed colony acting like a bully, but it wasn’t who she really was. She was just hungry, scared, and trying to survive. 💔

We brought her in right away for TNR. At the clinic, there was no visible spay scar, no tattoo, no microchip—nothing to tell us she had already been through this. So she was anesthetized, prepped, and surgery began… only for the vet to discover that JJ had already been spayed. 🙀

She went through all of that stress and risk for nothing.

This is why I will always support ear tipping. ✅ Because the truth is, indoor cats escape. They get left behind when people move. And sometimes, they’re intentionally put outside with no way to tell their story.

A simple ear tip could have spared JJ from an unnecessary surgery. It could have saved her from pain, confusion, and risk. It could have also kept a valuable appointment open for another cat still waiting for that life-changing procedure.

An ear tip is quick, safe, and heals fast, but its impact lasts a lifetime‼️ It speaks for cats who otherwise have no voice, and it protects them in ways we don’t always see until it’s too late.

While our team does have a knack for socializing the unsociable, it often takes months. And that one cat who isn’t highly adoptable might tie up a foster home for a year or more. We try to be conservative with the adult socialization cases we take on, reserving them for cats who truly aren’t thriving outdoors such as those losing weight, struggling with coat upkeep, etc or who are in active danger. TNR is key!

Sharing stories about “taming feral cats” may feel encouraging, but for the vast majority of truly feral cats, it’s simply not a realistic outcome. These cats are not just shy or scared. They are unsocialized, and trying to force that change can create more stress and harm than good.

Unless you are personally offering to take on that time, responsibility, and long-term commitment, a comment suggesting that someone else work with them doesn't actually help the situation in front of us.

What does help—what truly changes their lives—is TNR.

Rescues and shelters are already stretched beyond capacity. They don’t have the resources to tame and place every cat living outdoors, and we can’t realistically remove every cat from less-than-perfect environments.

But we 𝙘𝙖𝙣 reduce suffering.
We 𝙘𝙖𝙣 stop the cycle.
We 𝙘𝙖𝙣 give them a safer, healthier life where they are.

Trap-Neuter-Return is the most humane, effective way to do that. It may not feel as heartwarming as the idea of every cat becoming a pet, but it’s the reality that protects the most lives.
