In England the national health service started a 20 million pound 3 year initiative to test for HIV/AIDS in the ER unless you opt out.

In the first few months they found nearly 800 people who didn’t know their status.

I can’t imagine “US tax dollars” being used in a similar fashion. Health care in Europe is night and day compared to the U.S.

I am lucky to have the most amazing patients but every now and again one comes along that steals your heart. Caesar had cataract surgery 6 weeks ago after being rescued by Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc, who do amazing work he now has a wonderful mum and dad who I love as much as Ceasar. Every time he comes in to see me his new mum and dad dress him up especially. Was wonderful to see Caesar today in his best costume yet. I can't wait to see his costume when he comes for his re-check in a months time! Not only can Caesar see but he is also a fashionista!

Working with rescue groups sometimes means you see cases of extreme cruelty. A month ago I examine three kittens all with the worst eye damage i have ever seen. There was so much damage we could not save Breezy's eyes; we managed to save one of Salema's eyes and both of Snickers eyes although she has some scarring. Was wonderful to see all three of them today a month later - now very happy, playful, wonderful kittens and quite the handful as my technician Kerrie discovered!!

Here is Shadow, he is an NYPD police dog. He has a condition called pannus which is caused by his immune system attacking parts of his eyelid. He will be on eye medication for life and I get to see him every few months I am lucky that he gives me kisses every time! Shadow and other NYPD dogs did an amazing job last night keeping everyone safe at the New Years Eve celebrations in Times Square. Happy New Year to Shadow!

New Year's Eve acknowledges the year just gone and celebrates new beginnings. As a patron of the National Arts Club I am humbled to host a table at a black tie dinner that consists of owners of previous, current and future patients. The dinner will also raise money for various rescue groups in NYC allowing them to continue their valuable work with rescue animals. Lastly, I can't thank you enough for your support/ contributions to "Dr Mundy Eye Vet" page as well as my other page Comparative Ocular Pathology Laboratory of Wisconsin (COPLOW) it has been humbling. Happy New Year to all of you and I hope 2015 brings you joy, happiness and success!
