Monty is a familiar face around here — and that’s exactly why we’re hoping this post reaches the right person.
Monty has been waiting for almost six months now, and the kennel stress is starting to take its toll. He’s a smart, eager-to-please dog, but after so much time behind a kennel door, it’s become harder for him to present his best self when people walk by. But those who take the time to meet Monty outside of his kennel see the real dog — a bright, affectionate boy who loves learning, splashing in the kiddie pool, and laying quietly at your feet with a bone or toy.

Monty has a good balance of energy and calm, but what he truly needs is a break from shelter life. Whether it’s a foster, an adoptive family, or a rescue partner, Monty is hoping someone will give him a chance to decompress and be the wonderful dog we know he is.

As part of our Dog Days of Summer adoption special, Monty’s adoption fee is waived.

He’s been overlooked long enough — maybe you’re the person who can finally see past the kennel and into his heart.
