Welcome to Let Us do the Walking! Dog Walking and Dog Training in Petaluma, California.
Operating as usual
Zeus and Harris just finished 5 weeks of Day Training. They are such good boys. They have lots of doodle energy, but loved to work and were joys to hangout with! I will miss them!
The many faces of our 71/2 month old puppy, Koda. He is a joy and we have really loved his puppyhood. We are starting to see adolescent moments and we are prepping for those. More training and staying straight on the rules. He is so much fun.!
Koda got that sleepy feeling after too much turkey on Thanksgiving, but he didn’t get any turkey. 💕🐾💕
Had to take this photo through the screen. These two sweeties shared big birthdays this year too. Monte turned 7 a few months back and Mortimer turned 6 on Tuesday. These pups have patiently been teaching our puppy how to be a nice puppy.
Sweet Cali just celebrated her first birthday. I really don’t think she was trained to keep the hat on…she just is that patient. Happy Birthday sweet girl!
This little fellow has a lot to say. He didn’t get what he wanted and he had a lovely sit. I couldn’t resist.
I don’t have who to credit this too, but I felt it was good information to share.
I think I may have confused him with the crate games.😊 goofy puppy!
I am really not eating this tree…really💕🐾💕🐾 Koda at 16 weeks. He is a smart, fun, happy puppy.
The life of a puppy looks pretty good right now!
Puppies! They are everywhere, and I have an adorable Australian Shepherd puppy who turned 14 week on Monday. Koda is his name and digging is his game. Now is the time to practice what I preach.
Meant to post this here first. Now it’s Happy Friday!
Ollie is, by nature and history, a super quiet, sort of couch potato who doesn’t ever even try to get on the couch. But, this having everyone home trying to do our own thing, has created a super slug. So, we have started training again. Even find it is slow mo, but we are starting. Do you have any stories about your dog and Covid stay at home orders?
Well, it has been a really long time since I posted to this page. I have been around training and loving dogs, just not posting....
But now I am back. I am focusing on R+ Training for dogs. I am happy to talk about, explain and help people understand the beauty of this method of training our wonderful pets. While we have been hanging out at home during March, I practiced on my cat. He know knows sit, spin (both ways), sit pretty and high five.
Let’s do the training.

Good information. In our somewhat dog crazy world, this is good to know.
A few simple definitions can open doors for discussing some of your dog's behavior with other dogs. For more info on this topic stay tuned to this channel and…

Kiyo, sent us another fantastic Max update! Congratulations to Kiyo and Leon on their marriage!!
"Sorry it's been so long since my last update! We got so busy between wedding planning and honeymooning, time seemed to just fly by!
Max has been doing wonderfully! He made it through our two trips without destroying the house!! I had a coworker watch him while we were away, so he was able to stay in our house. Leon asked me every day we were gone how Max was doing...I thought it was cute because he wasn't so keen on adopting Max when we first met ;)
Leon has started getting used to all the fur from Max shedding right now...it "snows" every day in our livingroom!! I guess one of the perks of having a big dog is that during shedding season is that even if your house is supposed to have wood floors, they turn into carpet!! (Haha bad joke, Sorry!)
We are so thankful to have Max as a part of our little family! And I'll try to do better about sending pictures!! Hope all is well back at the rescue! We love and miss you!
Love,
Kiyo, Leon and Max"

Yep yep!!
I know the weather is cooling down, but it is never to early to repeat this.
Being that we are out everyday with dogs, this off leash thing gets to be a problem.
Positive Training works, takes time, patience and love...but you build trust and love with your four legged friend.
Another good dog body language graphic. Where I don't really favor dog parks, I know people do. So, knowing what fear and bullying look like is important.
Great graphics...information anyone using dog parks needs to know.
January is the APDT's National Train Your Dog Month! We're pleased to offer a variety of free eLearning courses to our members, their clients, non-trainer animal professionals, and the general public. Please enjoy the following eLearning course and feel free to share with anyone who may benefit. Canine Intelligence, presented by Dr. Brian Hare. Learn how dogs "see the world." Researchers have learned more about how dogs think and reason in the last ten years than in the past century, and it is an exciting field of research as dogs traditionally have been seen as cute, fun, affectionate and loyal, but perhaps not always as very bright. Researchers have now found that dogs are in fact very smart in many ways, developed from thousands of years of interaction with people. They have developed unique capabilities and strategies that in many cases exceed those of for example dolphins and chimpanzees, which traditionally have been seen as among the smartest animals. Dr. Hare will also introduce a new service - Dognition - that promises to help YOU understand YOUR dog's unique genius. http://www.trainyourdogmonth.com/events/webinars/100138/
