Meet Kevin! He is a 5-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd who was rescued by a kind family from a local shelter. Unfortunately, despite a lot of love, effort, and professional training support, they have realized they are not the right long-term fit for him and are hoping to find him a great home. 💛

Kevin is incredibly affectionate, loyal, and deeply bonded to his people. He loves car rides, grooming time, learning new things, and being part of the family. He already knows commands like “sit” and “down,” is highly food motivated, and enjoys engaging with his humans. He also does well with confident, dog-savvy cats and older children.

Kevin is a sensitive dog who would do best in a calmer home environment without young children. Busy households and high-energy situations can sometimes be overwhelming for him, so he would likely thrive most with an experienced owner who understands how to help dogs feel secure and successful.

He is healthy, up to date on vaccines, and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

If you think you may be a good fit for Kevin or would like to learn more about him, please DM us!

A huge thank you to Gabrielle for donating 4 big bags of dog food and dog biscuits for the rescue dogs. 💛 Donations like this truly make a difference and help us continue caring for so many dogs in need every single day. We go through an incredible amount of food at the ranch, and support from our community helps more than you know. Thank you for helping keep our dogs fed, happy, and cared for. 🐾

Every rescue dog needs a safe place to land, and foster homes are what make that possible. Right now, we are urgently looking for more foster families willing to help dogs in need while they wait for their forever homes. Even fostering short-term can completely change a dog’s future. 🐾

When you foster with us, you are never doing it alone. We provide support, supplies, veterinary care, and help getting your foster dog seen through adoption events and social media.

We are especially looking for foster homes in the Bay Area and Sacramento regions to help with transport, vet appointments, and adoption events in Marin and Sonoma Counties.

Fostering gives dogs the chance to decompress, learn routines, and show their true personalities outside of the shelter environment — and it truly saves lives.

We know we ask for help a lot, and we never take your support for granted. But right now, the reality is that rescue is expensive, emotional, and incredibly overwhelming behind the scenes and we truly need help. 💛

Every dog that comes through our doors has different needs. Some need medical care. Some need specialized food, supplements, medications, or ongoing vet visits. Others need something just as important: professional behavior training so they can safely transition into homes and have a real chance at a successful future.

Many of the dogs we save were hours away from losing their lives at overcrowded shelters because they needed extra support, time, or training that shelters simply cannot provide. Saying “yes” to those dogs means taking on the financial responsibility that comes with helping them heal and succeed.

Right now, we are facing especially high expenses between Gracie’s ongoing cancer care, daily care costs for the dogs at the ranch, and behavioral training needs for several dogs who deserve the opportunity to become stable, adoptable companions.

We are trying our absolute best to keep going and continue saying “yes” to dogs that need us, but we truly cannot do it alone.

If you are able to donate, share this post, send a Chewy gift card, or click our donate button it would mean more than you know. Every single donation directly helps provide food, medical care, training, and safety for dogs who have nowhere else to go.

These are just a few of the incredible dogs currently looking for forever homes. 🐾 Each one has their own unique personality, story, and so much love to give. Most of them are already dog-friendly, house-trained, and crate-trained, making the transition into a home even smoother.

Every adoption also includes group training classes with a professional trainer to help build confidence, reinforce good habits, and support a successful transition into their new home.

If one of these sweet faces catches your heart, we’d love to help you meet them. 💛 For more information, either DM us or check out their pet profiles on our website: https://roxysranchhaven.org/

National Rescue Dog Day is more than a reminder, it’s a celebration of hope, healing, and the lives that change when someone chooses to care.

Behind every rescue story is a dog who has loved, lost, survived, and is still choosing to trust again. And sometimes, all it takes is one person to say “I’ll help you start over.” The beautiful truth is, you don’t have to adopt to change a life. You can be part of their journey through fostering, volunteering, donating, or simply sharing their story so the right person can find them. Even the smallest action can be the reason a dog finally gets seen. ✨

Every tail wag after fear… every soft sigh in a safe bed… every moment they realize they’re finally home, starts with kindness from someone like you.

Because rescue dogs aren’t asking for much… just a chance. And sometimes, a chance is all they need to change everything. 🐾

Benji is looking for a fresh start with someone who understands dogs that need a little extra patience, structure, and support. 💛

Around 2 years old and believed to be a Staffy mix, Benji was originally rescued from a homeless man who wasn’t able to properly care for him. Despite his difficult start, Benji can be incredibly loving, sweet, and deeply bonded to his people.

Benji is a sensitive, high-energy dog who struggles with reactivity and can become overwhelmed, especially in stressful situations or during leash time.

Benji would do best with an experienced owner who understands reactive dogs and is committed to providing structure, patience, and continued training.

💛 Benji’s adoption also includes group training classes to help continue building confidence, structure, and a strong bond with his future family.

For more info or to meet Benji please DM us.

Teddy is a gentle, soulful 1-year-old boy looking for a patient home to help him continue building confidence. 💛

At 61 pounds, Teddy is calm, sweet, and walks nicely on leash. He can be a little shy at first, but he continues to show more of his soft personality every day. He also does well with other dogs and could thrive with a canine companion and proper introductions.

Teddy’s adoption includes the option to attend group training classes to help continue building confidence and strengthen the bond with his future family.

⚖️ 61 lbs
🕰️ 1 year old

If you’re looking for a gentle companion with a sweet heart and lots of potential, Teddy may be your perfect match. 🐾

Wolfie was on the euthanasia list at Stanislaus Shelter.

When Annette spotted Wolfie at the shelter, she immediately reached out and asked Roxanne to pull him, offering to foster him herself. Annette has fostered with us before, and thankfully stepped in once again to help save a dog in need.

Only a week later, a woman named Kerry from Canada saw Wolfie’s photo and couldn’t stop thinking about him.

She reached out about adopting him, and together, Annette and Kerry arranged to meet in Oregon for the handoff.

During the trip, Annette traveled with Wolfie and her own dog Rio through some of the most beautiful places along the West Coast.

They explored beaches, lakes, the Redwoods, snow, and had an amazing road trip together.

Everywhere he went, people stopped to say hello because of his calm, gentle energy.

Kerry and her daughter drove more than 15 hours from Canada to meet him, proving just how loved Wolfie already was before he even arrived home.

The transfer happened on Mother’s Day, and it was such a beautiful and emotional moment for everyone involved.

We are endlessly grateful to Annette, Rio, Kerry, and everyone who helped give Wolfie the life he always deserved.

Happy life, sweet Wolfie. 💛
