Grace’s story didn’t start at the ranch. ❤️‍🩹

Grace (formerly Rebbie Jackson) came from Contra Costa Animal Services, where she was deeply shut down and depressed. After arriving at the shelter, she underwent a spay-abortion and barely moved in her kennel. Volunteers decided to wheel her out to the yard — and once there, Grace slowly started to open up, showing glimpses of the gentle soul she truly is.
We were notified that Grace was scheduled for euthanasia. She didn’t have the time or safe space for her chance there — so she came to the ranch.

When Grace entered rescue, she went straight to our vet. Two masses had already been removed during her spay, and at that time no further treatment was recommended. Since then, several new masses have developed — some of them bleeding — and Grace now urgently needs surgery to remove them and determine what’s going on after returning yesterday.

Despite everything she’s endured, Grace is incredibly sweet and soft. She’s still unsure about people, but she’s learning that she’s safe. She’s gaining confidence in quiet, meaningful ways — like choosing to go outside on her own. No doubt not feeling well doesn’t help. Grace does well with other dogs, is farm and cat friendly, and she wants to open up. We want her to feel better and be able to do that.

We don’t want Grace’s story to end here. She deserves comfort. She deserves answers. She deserves a chance to heal.

The estimated cost for Grace’s surgery and testing is $2,600 (sorry error in the video!). This is absolutely necessary and we know it will be the beginning of diagnosis. If you’re able to donate to Grace’s care, even a small amount helps.

If you can’t donate, sharing her story could reach the person who can. Please also consider joining iGive as well.

We’re asking for help for Grace, and it’s not easy to ask, but she truly needs us right now.

Grace has bleeding tumors on her chest and her foot that must be removed and tested as soon as possible. The estimated cost is $2,600, and without this surgery, her condition will only worsen.

Grace is gentle, timid, and incredibly sweet. She’s learning to trust, slowly gaining confidence, and showing small but meaningful signs of progress, like going outside on her own when she couldn’t before. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, is farm and cat friendly, and carries such a calm, loving presence.

We don’t want her story to end like this. She deserves comfort. She deserves a chance to heal.

Please, if you’re able, donate to help cover Grace’s surgery and testing. Even the smallest amount helps more than you know. And if donating isn’t possible right now, sharing her story can make all the difference. One share could reach the person who’s able to help save her life.

Mr. Tyr — a chiropractic update!

Our sweet boy has been doing fantastic, he is a bouncy happy guy. He and fellow tri-pawd Riley love each other so much (that friendship will be one of our next reels! We are still looking for part-time Social Media help so bear with us on update delays and check out our post on the job listing!)

Tyr is receiving regular chiropractic care from our friends at to help his body adjust. He’s running and playing and doing puppy things, although toned down while we work through his vet care plan for his head injury.

He has an amazing personality, so happy and affectionate. He’s getting lots of great supplements and highly nutritional food and toppings to help his recovery from the inside. He is such a special soul and will make someone’s best friend of a life time when he is ready.

Please help support Tyr’s recovery and our other dogs in the rescue using our link in bio or these alternative methods:

Urgent foster homes needed starting Sunday
Northern California • Bay Area or Sacramento & surrounding areas

We need fosters for 8 seven-week-old puppies starting this Sunday. Without foster homes in place, we cannot bring them all into rescue.

These puppies were being given away for free outside a Dollar Store, sitting in a shopping cart. A concerned employee took all remaining and reached out to us for help, and we are trying to step in — but we need foster homes to do so.

Their story: an unhoused woman caring for the litter shared that 6 of the 8 puppies’ mom belonged to a friend living along the river. When code enforcement cleared the area, the owner was arrested. About 2½ weeks ago, the mama disappeared and has not been found. The woman who saved the puppies plans to have mom spayed if she resurfaces and we’d like to make sure she is safe. Two are from the same encampment, but unknown mother.

Breed is unknown (likely 6 are staffy/mastiff mixes). What we do know is they are sweet, innocent babies who deserve warmth and safety.

We initially committed to helping three due to limited fosters, but there is no rescue lined up for the others — and we will not leave them behind.

What we need:
• Fosters for one or more puppies per household (or whole litter in one), able to keep pups inside till fully vaccinated
• 4–8 weeks commitments starting Sunday (shorter term is still helpful but we need mostly full term to do this)
• NorCal, especially SF Bay Area or Sacramento Area region (we are in Petaluma)
• All vet care, supplies, and support provided

Urgent fosters needed starting Sunday
Northern CA • Bay Area or Sacramento Area/Surrounding Areas

We are looking for fosters for 8 seven-week-old puppies starting this Sunday. Without fosters in place, we cannot bring them all into rescue.

These puppies were being given away for free outside a Dollar Store, sitting in a shopping cart. A concerned employee reached out for help, and we would like to step in — but we need foster homes to move forward.

Their story as told to the woman who took them and relayed to us:

An unhoused woman caring for the litter shared that the pregnant mama belonged to a friend living along the river. When code enforcement cleared the area, the owner was arrested. Then anout 2½ weeks ago, the mama disappeared from the riverside campsite and was never found. (If she resurfaces, the woman who has saved her babies to getting her spayed.)

The puppies are approximately 7 weeks old. Breed is unknown; possibly staffy/mastiff mixes, with two possibly staffy/GSD. What we do know is that they are sweet, innocent babies who deserve warmth and safety.

We originally committed to helping three due to limited fosters, but there is no rescue for the others and we will not leave them behind.

What we need:

• Fosters for one or more puppies per home
• Availability for 4-8 weeks starting Sunday
• Bay Area or Sacramento area
• Short-term fosters welcome
• Rescue covers vet care and support

These puppies are counting on us.

Puppy fosters open their homes and hearts to give these little ones a safe, loving place to grow, learn, and simply be puppies while they wait for their forever families. They will need to finish their shots over the next few weeks and stay inside after this ordeal. We provide all supplies, medical care, and support, all they need from you is patience, kindness, and lots of love!

If fostering has ever crossed your mind, this is a beautiful way to make a real difference and help more than one life at a time. 💛

📩 Interested in fostering? Please DM us or apply through this link: https://roxysranchhaven.org/foster/

Sharing this post helps us reach potential foster homes. 💛

We’re excited to share a new way you can give back to the rescue without any cost to your time or wallet — and for anyone who misses Amazon Smile, this is a great alternative now that it’s been discontinued.

We’re now partnered with iGive.com, a free platform that helps businesses and consumers give back to nonprofits through regular online purchases at participating stores. After you create a free account and choose our rescue as your cause, you can install the iGive browser extension (the iGive Button). Once installed, it automatically prompts you to activate iGive whenever you visit a participating website, so you don’t have to remember on your own. You can click the extension at anytime to browse all participating businesses or double check you have activated your donation while shopping.

iGive works with over 1,500 online stores, including a large variety of popular names. Participating companies include Walmart, Ulta Beauty, Sephora, Sol de Janeiro, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, YSL Beauty, Ashley Furniture, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Bloomingdale’s, CVS, Walgreens, Banana Republic, Athleta, Brooks Brothers, ASOS, Ace Hardware, Advance Auto Parts, 1-800-PetMeds, BarkBox, Blue Apron, Anker, Bissell, Backcountry, Enterprise, Alamo Rent A Car, Embassy Suites, Travelocity, and Best Western — plus thousands more that have chosen to help you give back.

When you activate iGive and shop like normal — even when using holiday gift cards — you’re paying the same price you normally would and a portion of your purchase is donated directly to help the dogs in our care.

It’s a true win-win: you don’t spend anything extra, your shopping habits don’t change, and our rescue receives meaningful support for medical care, food, and training.

This is an easy way to help our mission and the incredible dogs who come into our rescue and easy to share with friends!

Visit iGive.com to get started.

🎄 All Plantain wants for Christmas is his people. 🎄

Our sweet Plantain is ready for his forever home, and he’s hoping this season brings him the family he’s been waiting for.

At 8 years old, Plantain is the perfect balance of active and relaxed. He still enjoys a good level of daily activity—walks, training time, and mental enrichment—but he’s just as happy to settle in for plenty of naps, quiet evenings and cuddles. A true German Shepherd at heart, he loves learning new tricks and has done wonderfully in training. At his age, his puppy energy has tempered and he is eager to please.

Plantain is affectionate, easygoing, and happy, and he’s thriving in his foster home. He would do best with an adopter who can continue providing structure, routine, and his own designated spaces, helping him feel safe and confident as he continues to blossom into the friendly, loving dog he is.

Because of his size and senior status, Plantain is best suited for a home with dog-savvy children ages 8+ who can respect his boundaries as an older boy.

🐾 Dog friendly

🐾 No cat assessment yet — even with a positive assessment, he would likely need training

Plantain has so much love to give and is ready to spend his golden years as a cherished family member. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will walk beside you and then curl up at your feet, Plantain might just be your perfect match.
