Meet Booters😍 (aka Boots)

This adorable little dachshund came in for his initial puppy exam at their primary care with a significant overbite and concerns for future dental issues. His caring owner was referred to us for treatment, and at just under four months of age, he was seen here at Whiskers to assess his oral condition.

Those sharp little puppy teeth were actually puncturing the upper pallet, causing discomfort. Boots was diagnosed with base-narrow mandibular canines and needed treatment to remove his deciduous teeth-not only to relieve pain from the trauma, but also to give his lower jaw the best chance for normal growth.

Boots returned for his 2-week surgical recheck and is healing beautifully! We will continue to monitor how his adult canine teeth are coming in over the next few months and determine if any additional treatment is needed to keep him comfortable and pain-free. Stay tuned for more of Boots’ cuteness! 😊🐶🐾

Meet Radar! Radar was adopted from the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter by two incredibly dedicated and kind owners. Unfortunately, Radar arrived at the shelter with multiple broken teeth that needed treatment. After the Rohnert Park Shelter started his oral care, he was adopted and his treatment continued here at Whiskers. After a thorough consultation, we proceeded with root canal therapy on his lower canine tooth, along with multiple extractions due to complicated crown and/or root fractures. The treated canine tooth was then protected with a custom crown, handcrafted by . At just 4 years old, Radar is lucky to have found such loving owners committed to his oral health and well-being. We look forward to seeing this sweet boy again for his follow up care!

Our clinic will be closed on 9/23-9/25. Dr. Carter and Dr. Hannahbess will be attending the annual Veterinary Dental Forum in San Antonio, Texas! We will return to normal business hours on Monday, September 29th. During this time, we have limited staff members monitoring voicemails and emails.

Please help us congratulate Dr. Hannahbess on the completion of her residency here at Whiskers! She is now qualified to sit for her board certification exam in January and June of 2026.

We are so proud of Dr. Hannahbess as she has put so much hard work into preparing for this moment. We appreciate her dedication to provide excellent care for our whiskered friends and look forward to the next part of her journey to become a board-certified dental specialist! 💙🦷🐾
