Saturday Socialization Walks are now open! 🐾

Located at FDSA Ranch in Petaluma, CA

No one’s signed up for this Saturday yet, so it’s a great chance to join a small group (or even get a semi-private walk).

Perfect opportunity to expose your dog to new situations in a safe and open space while working on calm, confident behavior.

When you’re walking your dog and pass another person with their dog, just keep walking.
Don’t stop in the middle of the path and put your dog in a sit and expect the other dog to just walk by.

I see this way too often and wonder why this is what so many people do.

Unless you’ve practiced this with your dog, it’s not helping (and usually just makes things harder for everyone)

Thursdays at 10 AM with Desi

Join us for a relaxed, supportive guided walk through the scenic FDSA Ranch Loop in Petaluma!

These walks are perfect for dogs who:
✔️ Get a little too excited on leash
✔️ Feel uneasy around other dogs or people
✔️ Could use a calm, structured space to practice focus and manners

And for handlers who:
✔️ Want to enjoy a peaceful walk without pressure
✔️ Appreciate small groups and safe spacing
✔️ Love connecting with fellow dog enthusiasts outdoors

What You’ll Experience:
✅ Calm, guided walks on private ranch property (some uneven ground and gentle hills)
✅ Safe exposure to other dogs, people, and livestock
✅ Real-life training opportunities in a relaxed, positive environment

📍 Location: FDSA Ranch — 470 Sonoma Mountain Rd, Petaluma
💲 Cost: $40 per dog (one dog per handler)
🐶 Group Size: Small and structured for comfort and safety

What to Bring:
* 6’ standard leash (no retractable or long lines)
* Water for you and your dog
* Comfortable walking shoes
* Weather-appropriate layers

Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so your dog can settle in before we begin.

Our September 11 Guided Ranch Dog Walk is sold out but there’s still space on September 18 & 25!

Is this walk for you? These walks are for dogs to practice calm parallel walking- being around other dogs without the pressure to greet or interact. Each team maintains at least 10 feet of space, and we focus on walking together, settling, and helping our dogs stay regulated in a real world but supportive environment.
Because the ranch is private property, there’s no chance of off-leash dogs suddenly approaching which makes it a safe and predictable setting for you and your dog to practice.

This is a good fit if your dog:
✅ Can walk on leash without needing to greet every person or dog
✅ Benefits from structure and space to settle
✅ Needs practice being calm around other dogs
❌ Not a fit for dogs looking for playdates or on-leash greetings the focus here is coexistence, not interaction.
