Wrapped up a great trip down to NC chasing turkeys and trying to put a few sharks on the sand. Can’t ask for much better than good weather, good company, and time outdoors doing what I love.

At the same time, the support back home never stopped. The phone stayed busy, messages kept coming in, and more birds are headed to the shop. I’m beyond thankful for every single customer that trusts me with their trophies and keeps Bands & Beards growing. Truly blessed by the good Lord more than I deserve.

Now it’s time to get back home, fire the shop back up, and start skinning birds. Sounds like I’ve got plenty waiting on me when I roll back in. Busy season isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

God bless

Flyer is about there, just wrapping up some final grooming and fine tuning the little details that make it all come to life.

After that, it’s time to mount both birds onto the habitat piece and get everything blended together the way it should be. Then it’s off to the customer’s wall.

This pair is shaping up to be a killer display 💥🦆

Finished up this lesser scaup today—first of the two going into a paired mount. A few final touches and grooming for this standing bird. Now it’s time to get rolling on the flyer to complete the setup. Gonna be a clean, eye-catching piece once both are done.

A couple cool facts about lesser scaup:
• They’re one of the most common diving ducks in North America
• Often called “bluebills” because of that slate-blue bill
• They can dive 20+ feet to feed on aquatic insects, plants, and small crustaceans

Keep an eye out for the flyer coming next—this pair is gonna turn out sharp 💥🦆

Big congrats to this young man on getting his turkey this weekend! 🦃 Always great seeing the next generation getting after it and making it happen.

He’s my first youth customer of the weekend, and I appreciate him trusting me with his bird!

I’ll be taking in birds all weekend for youth hunters, as well as throughout the regular spring turkey season. If you want your bird done right and preserved for years to come, get ahold of me and I’ll get you taken care of! God bless

Almost ready! This drake pintail just needs a couple wing adjustments and some final grooming before he’s complete, my customer stopped in today and is stoked about adding his pintail to the wall! Huge thanks to all my followers for sticking with me the past few weeks—I’ve got 2–4 more birds I plan to push out the door in the next week, and I can’t wait to get them to their new homes! Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend! God bless💥🦆

I want to apologize for being a little absent on here lately. Work has had me tied up with storm work at my full-time job, but things are starting to settle back down.

On the bright side, I’ve got something big lined up. This September I’ll be traveling to Texas to attend a 1-on-1, 40-hour course with a world-renowned waterfowl taxidermist. Opportunities like this don’t come around often, and I’m taking full advantage of it to continue improving my craft.

I’m committed to staying at the top of my game and constantly bettering myself so I can deliver the highest quality mounts possible. I truly appreciate all the support and patience—excited for what’s ahead and what I’ll be bringing back to the shop.
God bless 💥🦃🦆

It’s that time of year again — tax return season! If you’ve been wanting to get that special bird mounted or have one sitting in the freezer waiting its turn, now’s the perfect time to make it happen.

Whether it’s a duck, goose or turkey putting a little of that tax return toward a mount means you’ll have something to enjoy for a lifetime, not just a season.

Don’t let that bird keep collecting freezer burn. Bring it in and let’s turn it into something worth hanging on the wall.

•Feel free to reach out with any questions or to talk about mount options! 💥🦃💥

Shot Placement Matters 🦃

If you’re planning on mounting your turkey, proper shot placement makes a huge difference in the final quality of the mount.

❌ Body shots can damage feathers, break bones, and cause blood and tissue damage that can be hard to fully repair during the taxidermy process.

✅ Head and neck shots are the best option. They help keep the breast, wings, and body feathers intact so I can give you the cleanest, highest-quality mount possible.

As a taxidermist, my goal is to make your bird look just as impressive on the wall as it did in the woods. A clean head/neck shot helps make that happen.

If you’re thinking about mounting your bird this season, keep this in mind when you line up the shot!
