Please plan ahead! Duke Veterinary Care will be closing early TOMORROW at 1:00 PM as Dr. Kiefer will be out of town for the weekend.

⚠️ Please note: Dr. Kiefer will be unavailable for emergencies during this time. Please follow the instructions pinned to the top of our page (VetTriage) or under the emergencies tab on our website if your pet is experiencing an emergency.

Help us wish a big Happy Birthday to Kristen, our top-notch veterinary receptionist and built-in auntie to our human kiddos! You come to work juggling ringing phones, wagging tails, and the occasional “emergency” squeaky toy situation, yet somehow you still manage to be everyone’s calm in the chaos. 🐾 💜

Between comforting nervous pets, wrangling treat-happy pups, and sneaking in snacks for the little humans who visit the clinic, you’ve become such a special part of both our animal and human families. 🥰

Hope your birthday is as special, kind, and fun as you are—filled with as much joy as a room full of happy puppies and giggling kids! 🐶 🐈 🎈

30 years old and somehow still willing to deal with bitey patients, a**l glands, bodily fluids, late night emergencies, and a doctor who always wants “just one more xray.” 😂

Today, we celebrated one incredible year in business, and I couldn’t have made it this far without the amazing people who have supported me along the way.

To our wonderful clients — thank you for trusting us, choosing us, and allowing us to be part of you and your pet’s journey. Your support, loyalty, and kind words mean more than you know.

To my dedicated staff — thank you for your hard work, commitment, passion, and everything you do behind the scenes to make Duke Veterinary Care what it is. I am so grateful to have such an incredible team!

A huge congratulations to the Elmshauser family on adopting the adorable duo, Raisin and Pecan, from Duke Veterinary Care! 💕

These two tiny troublemakers have officially found their forever home, and we couldn't be more excited.

Get ready for zoomies, purrs, endless snuggles, and a little bit of kitten mischief! 😸

📢 Office Update- Doctor Out of Town 8/1-8/5📢

Just a heads-up! Dr. Kiefer will be out of town from Saturday, August 1, through Wednesday, August 5, and will not be available for emergencies during this time.

🏥 Office Hours While the Doctor Is Away
Our staff will be in the office Monday & Tuesday from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM to:
🐶 Refill existing medications
🍖 Refill pet food
📅 Schedule appointments
💬 Answer questions

⚠️ Important Reminder: We cannot prescribe any new medications while Dr. Kiefer is away. We can only refill current prescriptions. If your pet may need a new medication or an exam, please contact us before Saturday.

Meet Raisin and Pecan! While these sweet girls aren't sisters, they've formed a special bond and would love to find a forever home together. ❤️

🐈 Raisin (black) – about 11 weeks old
🐈 Pecan (brown tabby) – about 8 weeks old

Both girls are:

💉 Started on their vaccinations
🩺 Dewormed
