📢WEEK END UPDATE🔥
What an amazing weekend! Starting Thursday evening, I spent 3 hours searching for little Millie who had escaped 2 days earlier. I had no luck that evening, it's tough when you're searching for a family pet and can't find it. It tends to stick with me. Though the families are always grateful that you cleared a lot of area that they don't have to search on foot, you just always wish there was more you could do. Then Friday evening, I started off with a dear recovery. This recovery only took about 6 minutes. A greatly needed win after the previous day. On the way home I decided to do a rechack for little Miss Millie from the previous day that had now been missing for 3 days. The owner had called and said that they had a sighting earlier that day. After searching for less than an hour there she was laying out in the middle of a field. I love doing deer recoveries, but being able to help bring a family member home is a whole nother level. Meanwhile, I took a call for another lost dog that I went to after this one, searched for another 3 hours with no avail. Though I'm confident in this drone's ability, the drive home at 3am leaves time for second-guessing. I know I have done all I can, but still you can't stop thinking "could I have checked somewhere else"? In this case, I received a call from the family the next day and one of the neighbors had taken their dog in for the evening and returned her the next morning. Then when Sunday rolled around. I had a deer recovery to do in the morning. I located a deer still alive in thick cover that the hunter was pretty sure was the deer we were looking for, but because of the thick cover we couldn't be for sure. After sunset I went out and did a recheck and sure enough it had moved into a more open area and the hunter was certain it was the buck he had targeted, though he did not get to tag it, he was relieved to see with a little recovery time his buck would be back in action.
If there's one thing I've learned, this business can be an emotional rollercoaster, the lowest of lows, followed by the highest of highest, but just like in life, if you don't put yourself out there and accept the lows, you'll never achieve the highs...
