I'm pretty excited about this y'all! Please help me spread the word 🙂
Vendor spaces:
$50 for 10x10
$75 for 10x20

Price for activity spots will be determined by the activity and the space needed. You will be charging people individually for your activity. For example, a petting zoo, pony rides, bounce house, face painting, photo booth, ect.

Speaker spots are for those who want to help educate and bring awareness to the topic on which they speak. You can put out a donation bucket if you choose. If you are demonstrating something you can sell then let me know so we can discuss pricing for your spot, otherwise it's a volunteer position.

I forgot to mention several things in the flyer that I'd like to see set up like a boiled peanut stand, someone who does old fashion kettle corn over a fire, syrup making, ect. If you do something that I didn't mention let me know what you do and how much space you need.

I'm not looking for modern practices. I want old time ways to be the main focus of this event so that people can come out and learn ways of the old. My goal is to get people thinking about how their ancestors lived off the land and helped each other by bartering and trading goods and labor. The people made their own medicine and grew their own food and they were so much healthier because of it and we can too. I'd love to see more of the old ways brought back to life here in my little town!!

If it's natural and handmade, I want you to bring it. If you bake it, it needs to be from scratch not a box, bag, or can. If it's furniture, home decor, crafts, or jewelry, ect and you made it, I want you to bring it. If you have a team of mules or horses and a plow or wagon, I want you there explaining to people how to hook up the team and work the land or pull the wagon. If you can teach basic sewing, yarn spinning, quilt making, homemade bread, canning, homemade cream, cheese, and butter, and jelly making skills I want you there to teach. If you are a fisherman or hunter and want to talk about skills and conservation, I want you there. If you can teach basic survival skills, I want you there. If you are able to teach people wood working skills I want you there. If you can teach about archery and farming, I want you there!! I really want this event to be fun, informative, and thought provoking with the hopes that it encourages and motivates people to want to go back to basics and live simply the way the Lord intended. I also want plenty of cool stuff for the kids to do. If you have a kid friendly activity you want to provide please let me know. I'd love to see a goat scramble or watch a good old fashion sack race! If you don't know what a goat scramble is, it's the same as a calf scramble. A goat is set loose in a pen with a ribbon tied to its tail and the first kid to get the ribbon off the tail wins.

I'd really love to make this happen for our town but I need people to participate. If you or someone you know is interested in setting up at the event, hosting an activity, or being a speaker email me at [email protected] for more information and tell me what you want to do and what size space you need.

So, it's time for me to start my fall waiting list for training. Spots are limited and they fill up fast. I will begin taking in clients horses the beginning of October. If you want to get on the list, message me and let's discuss your horse's needs. Please be specific about what you want done so I can give you an accurate quote.

Here is a list of the services I provide, but don't hesitate to message me and ask about something you don't see mentioned. I have a lifetime of experience with horses and a huge network. If I can't do it, I bet I know someone who can and I don't recommend amateurs or back yard want to be trainers. If I recommend someone, they will be professional, honest, and know what they're doing!

Things I offer:

tune ups
trail seasoning
sale conditioning
barrel training
baby basics
trailer loading
Desensitizing
Confidence building
corrective training
Foundation building
Ground work/round penning

I also do consignments if you have one you need to rehome. I have a 100% success rate. I also help people find the right horse. I will make sure you don't get lied to and ripped off. You tell me exactly what you need and I will find it and test it out for you. My fees are very reasonable. Message me if you want to discuss this further. Consignment spots are first come first serve as spots are available.

I've included a few reviews of my work, you will not regret choosing me to work for you. Reach out to me and let me know how I can help you.

I know it's been a while since I posted anything. Sometimes life gets busy and I drift away from this page. I am going to be using it more frequently again once I get my breeding program up and running. I'm switching gears and doing something different. I want to put good quality AQHA babies on the ground and do my part to preserve this amazing breed of horses! I've been busy finding horses for my program and I'm pretty happy with what I've got to start out with. If you are going to be looking for a nice foal next year, I should have at least 4 coming. I am getting a late start breeding but it's ok, good things are worth waiting for. I will still take in consignments and horses for some training but not like I used to. Message me if you have one you need sold or want tuned back up, baby basics, or trail seasoning and desensitizing. I no longer start horses for the public but there is still a lot I will do. Here's some of the horses in my breeding program. The babies will be raised to show and breed.

I cannot preach ground work enough and it blows my mind how people just skip right over it and act like it's not important. It is absolutely important and necessary for successful training. It builds a solid foundation, it's takes the stress out of training and those first rides, plus it builds trust, respect, and a solid bond. If you have those 3 things and are willing to put in the ground work at your horses pace, your horse will be very easy to go on training under saddle. I have started many horses from scratch and they never buck!

Why?

Because I do so much ground work that by the time I get on them, they don’t care! They are so broke from all the ground work I’ve done that when I finally climb up into their back it is barely a second thought.

Many times when people send me a horse for training I get the question, “Have you gotten on him yet?” when the horse has only been in training a short while. Most people don't realize it usually takes about 30 days just to do all the ground work and foundation building I do. That varies from horse to horse too. There is no one program fits all horses here and there are no time frames here bc I listen to the horse and let him set the pace. Your horses progress depends solely on your horse.

So when people ask me if I've been on their horse in the first week or two, most likely the answer is “No!” I value my life and your horse’s well being & my well being and I want to do things correctly and set your horse up for success. I’m going to teach him everything I can from the ground first! They will get trained over a period of time & they will be happy & retain their training. I love these horses and will not push them too hard and put unrealistic expectations on them just to appease their owner. If you are in a rush then don't contact me for training!

Be patient with your horse & horse trainer!!! Give us the time we need to get your horse where he needs to be.

To all those parents looking for beginner friendly horses.....If you love your child and want them to love horses, please buy them an appropriate horse. Do not get hung up on age, height, s*x, or color. Listen to people who have REAL EXPERIENCE. The only thing that should matter to you is the safety of your child. I don't care if they've always dreamt of a palomino or blue roan, or your husband wants a "young" horse that they can "grow with". This is placing unrealistic desires above what your child needs. People who really know horses would NEVER tell you to overlook a been there, done that horse with a little age. If the horse is 22 and plain old red but it a perfect fit for your kid then get him! Don't pass that old fellow up for a shiny gold 5 year old. Old red has years and years of seasoning and experience and is a true babysitter who will keep your kid safe while teaching him/her the ropes of owning and riding a horse!

"Some people want a confident horse yet are nervous in the saddle,

An athletic one, yet, fail to visit a gym themselves,

A well rounded one, yet won't take a lesson,

A "dead broke" one, yet rides only on the weekends,

A soft round horse, but yet sit rigid in the saddle,

A forgiving, trusting horse, but punish first and ask questions later.

Imagine if we were all the types of riders out horses wanted us to be. If we were all confident, athletic, well rounded, soft, patient and consistent riders?

It's a journey. A dance between two species. Have conversations, not fights. Check in with them, give them credit, give them dignity, give them time, and above all else, give them love.

It's not so much about learning to speak their language, it's about quieting down and learning to listen."
