This is BeeGee after the farrier took off his shoes, looking handsome and stylish waiting for the shoes to be cleaned off and put back on.
He is doing FANTASTIC over the past month since the severe trim and the new glue on shoes were put on.
I am absolutely thrilled to see him out running around the pasture, starting crap with the bigger animals and then running away and playing tag and hide n go seek with the donkeys.
I can't even put into words how relieved and how happy i feel.
I couldn't save the mare that was with him before i took him, but i swore when i agreed to take BeeGee that i would not stop until we helped him.
I was not going to let him be miserable and in pain constantly and then pass away like she did.
This success story is one of the moments that make animal rescue and rehab 100 percent worth all the moments that break our hearts and make us want to quit and wonder why we even bother.
THIS is the reason i and others like me do this job...i couldn't live my life any other way anymore.
It's why I've pulled my big girl panties up and have started trying to get some things done around here and refuse to continue to be depressed.
Hoping the storms stay away this year and maybe we can finally really get some things repaired, add more housing and help more animals.
Thank you all for supporting this dream of ours and for helping us make it a reality. Frequently it doesn't feel real or feels like it'll be taken away... I'm working on that but today i just feel success and relief and happiness for this tiny horse who i was afraid would never walk right again🥹
