We are dedicated to guide, educate and empower you to make decisions to enrich and extend the life of your pet. The professional and courteous staff at Peotone Animal Hospital seeks to provide high quality medicine and compassionate care for you and your pet. We practice high quality medicine. Your pet is a member of our family, not a number or dollar sign. We work with you to tailor our medical

protocol to each pet. We understand that each pet is an individual. We offer an extended 3 year vaccination protocol to ensure the safest possible preventative care for your pet. We don't cut corners during surgery. Every pet is blood tested before surgery, we place IV catheters, and EVERY pet is monitored by a certified veterinary technician. This is standard for our surgeries. We are fully staffed with Certified Veterinary Technicians. You pet will receive the highest quality care while here either for wellness or a hospitalization stay.

A pet’s palette is not as discerning as you would hope. What’s the weirdest thing your pet has tried to eat? 😳

And if they succeed…give us a call so we can help!

We would like to introduce Dr. Emma Nicholas, who is joining our PAH family! 🐾

Dr. Emma was born and raised on the southwest side of Chicago. Growing up, she spent time on her father’s farm in Ireland, where she developed a strong interest in large animal medicine from an early age.

She went on to pursue her veterinary degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Caribbean, followed by her clinical training at Oklahoma State University.

Dr. Emma has a special interest in small animal internal medicine and surgery as well as all aspects of large animal medicine.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Emma enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, gardening, traveling and cheering on chicago sports teams!

As flowers bloom, so do risks for our pets, with plenty of opportunity for them to breathe in particles, scratch an eye, poke a paw, or even get snagged by a branch or thorn, all of which could potentially lead to infections.

Infections can be sneaky subtle—If your pet is not acting right and you are not sure what it is, get them checked! Like with most conditions, the sooner we treat an infection, the better your pet will feel.

🍔 A burger… made their way 🐾
Today is National Hamburger Day, but your pet doesn’t need the drive-thru version to feel included.

In fact, many classic burger ingredients—like onions, garlic, and heavy seasoning—can upset their stomach (or worse). The good news? You can still treat them—just a little differently. Think:
🥩 Plain, lean protein
🥕 Pet-safe veggies
🚫 No added salt, spices, or toppings

Because the best treats aren’t the ones we share…they’re the ones we choose with them in mind. ❤️
If you’re ever unsure what’s safe, we’re always here to help!
