Update: Oren is healing well. He has been neutered and while he was sedated, debridement the self-inflicted scratch wounds occurred. He got a deep ear cleaning and another round of ear ointment antibiotic. Upon examination of his mouth, Dr. Kelly discovered broken canines with root exposure. The damaged teeth were extracted and Oren can finally eat dry food! A new video has been added so you can see the healing and how thankful he is to have the much needed medical attention.

When a compassionate community member noticed this poor tomcat in desperate need of help, they immediately reached out to Grafelman Farms Rescue.
Look closely at the wound behind his ears—that wasn't from a fight. It was actually self-inflicted. He was suffering from an ear infection so severe and painful that he was literally scratching himself raw just trying to find relief. 💔

We we were able to step in right away:
🧼 Deep cleaned his ears
💊 Started him on antibiotics and much-needed pain medication
🩹 Treated his wounds so he can finally heal in comfort
🌲 The Next Step: Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR)
Once he’s fully healed, the next step is to neuter, vaccinate, and return him to his outdoor home. The best news? The wonderful finders who alerted us have promised to provide him with outdoor shelter and daily meals! 🥣✨
