"Riding gives her confidence. The contentment on her face - I cannot explain other than it is priceless.”

This is why we show up every single day.

When the world feels confusing and overwhelming, the arena becomes a place of calm, confidence, and belonging. Horses have a way of doing that - meeting each rider exactly where they are and helping them find their footing.

To every family who trusts us with someone they love ,we don't take that lightly. Ever.

We are honored to share that Silver Lining Riding has been awarded $14,525 from the West Valley Mavericks Foundation to support the vision behind our growing HorsePower Program for Veterans & First Responders.
HorsePower was created to provide something many carry quietly but deeply need—purpose, connection, community, and space to breathe. Through horses, service projects, teamwork, and meaningful relationships, participants are reminded they do not have to carry everything alone.
These funds will help us continue building the experience surrounding that mission, including The Mavericks Porch—a gathering space designed for conversation, reflection, shared meals, and connection before and after programming.
Healing doesn’t always happen in big moments.
Sometimes it happens sitting beside someone who understands.
Sometimes it happens through serving together.
Sometimes it starts with simply having a place to belong.
To the West Valley Mavericks Foundation—thank you for believing in our veterans, first responders, and the power of community.
We’re excited for what’s ahead. 🇺🇸🐴

Words like these remind us exactly why we do what we do. 🤍🐴
Our volunteers show up with their whole hearts, tacking up with patience, walking beside each rider with encouragement, and building the kind of trust that carries far beyond the arena.
When a family feels seen, supported, and hopeful, that's the silver lining we're always reaching for.
Thank you to every family who lets us be part of your journey. 🌟

Ask your instructor! 🐴 Our horse handlers gathered this week for a volunteer education class focused on pressure and release, one of the most important tools in building trust and communication with our horses. When our volunteers understand why the horses respond the way they do, everyone benefits, especially our riders. Grateful for a team that never stops learning! 💙 ”

Meet Your Moms Camp Instructor 🤍🐴
Hi, I’m Kelsey.
I’m a mom of five, navigating the beautiful and messy world of blended family life, busy schedules, sports practices, and all the moments in between. I know what it feels like to pour so much into everyone else that you forget what brings you joy.
I grew up around horses and have spent the last several years helping people connect with both horses and themselves through equine-assisted learning. I’ve had the privilege of watching horses create space for confidence, healing, growth, and honest reflection in ways that are hard to explain until you experience it.
One thing I’m passionate about is helping moms remember they are more than the roles they carry. More than the schedules, lunches, laundry, and responsibilities.
At Moms Camp, my hope is that you leave feeling seen, encouraged, and maybe even reconnect with parts of yourself you haven’t visited in a while.
You don’t need horse experience. You don’t need to have it all together.
Just come as you are. 🤍
I can’t wait to meet you.
— Kelsey

Arizona summers are no joke!
To help keep everyone safe and comfortable, Silver Lining Riding will move to ground lessons when temperatures reach over 105°.
This decision helps protect:
🐴 Our horses
🧡 Our riders
🙌 Our volunteers
Ground lessons still provide meaningful learning opportunities through grooming, horsemanship, connection, confidence-building, and hands-on equine interaction — all while reducing heat-related risk.
Thank you for helping us care well for both people and horses during the summer months!

We spent time learning about “sticky horses” and practicing the Ask, Tell, Reinforce method, giving our volunteers hands-on experience, practical tools, and guidance from our wonderful instructors.
Healthy programs don’t just happen. They’re built when you invest in the people who care for your horses, support your riders, and show up week after week with willing hearts.
When volunteers feel confident, supported, and equipped, our horses are cared for well, our riders are safer, and the entire program grows stronger because of it. We’re so grateful for a team that continues to learn, grow, and serve so wholeheartedly. 💛
