How Many Times Can One Heart Be Broken? β Tigger #1βs Story π
Tigger #1 first came to PFS in February 2022 after being transferred to us from PCAPS. He had been surrendered by his owner because, at 7 years old, he was unable to adjust to life with new kittens in the home.
Not long after, Tigger was adopted by a senior gentleman and happily settled into life as an only cat. He thrived in that home until March 2025, when his owner was hospitalized. Tigger returned to our care as a respite cat, and we all hoped he would soon be going back home. Sadly, that was not to be. His owner passed away later that month, and Tigger was once again in need of a home.
Back at the shelter, Tigger had a difficult time adjusting to the other cats. In truth, he wanted nothing to do with them. But with people, he was just the opposite β affectionate, loving, and always ready to soak up attention.
We were overjoyed when, in August 2025, Tigger was adopted again, this time by a senior lady who loved him dearly. Our hearts were full for him, believing he had finally found his forever home.
Then, in March 2026, tragedy struck again. Tiggerβs adopter suffered a severe fall and will sadly not be able to live independently again.
And so, through no fault of his own, sweet Tigger has been returned to our care once more.
Our hearts break for this wonderful boy. Tigger is now 11 years old. He is loving, gentle, and wonderful with people. He simply needs a home where he can be the only cat. Surely there is someone out there with room in their heart and home for this sweet senior gentleman β someone who will give Tigger the lasting love and security he so deserves.
