Dropped in to hang out with two of my favorite buddies Gracie and Rhett for a few hours. They are such wonderful dogs.

Drop-in visits are a great option for dogs who are more comfortable staying in their own home while their people are away or busy. It keeps their routine consistent, which can make a big difference in their stress levels.

Even a short visit gives them a chance to get outside, stretch their legs, have some company, and get a quick check to make sure everything is okay.

Sometimes it’s not about long stays. Just showing up, keeping things familiar, and giving them a little attention goes a long way.

Just horsing around today.

Spent the day horse sitting and keeping up with the usual barn routine. Feeding, checking water, and making sure everyone is comfortable. Horses really thrive on consistency, so the little things matter more than people sometimes realize.

Clean water, good hay, regular feeding times, and a quick check over for anything out of the ordinary all help keep them healthy and happy. Spending a few minutes brushing or just being around them also helps build trust and keeps you aware of any changes in their condition.

Animal care always comes back to the same basics. Routine, observation, and a little patience go a long way.

Princess came in today for a deep conditioning bath and a fresh haircut. Sweet little mix of Havanese and Maltese, and coats like this are a good reminder that not all shampoos work the same on every dog.

Different coat types need different things. Some coats need moisture, some need help releasing dirt and oil, and some need support to keep the hair from tangling. Using the right shampoo and conditioner helps keep the coat soft, healthy, and much easier to brush between appointments.

Regular baths and haircuts also make home care a lot simpler. When the coat is kept clean and trimmed to a manageable length, brushing takes minutes instead of turning into a wrestling match with tangles.

For busy households, a shorter haircut can be a really practical option. It keeps the coat neat and comfortable while giving owners a little more breathing room between grooming sessions.

Princess left feeling soft, fresh, and ready to show off her new trim. Clean coat, happy pup.

Scrub a dub dub, three pups in the tub. 🫧🛁

Sasha Marie, Sara, and Yolo all lined up for their deshedding baths today and did so well. Three different coats, three different personalities, all calm and cooperative from start to finish.

There’s something really satisfying about giving your own pack a good reset. Warm bath, thorough blow out, lots of brushing, and watching all that loose undercoat finally let go. Now they are soft, shiny, and feeling so much lighter.

Moments like this remind me why I love what I do. Healthy skin, clean coats, and happy dogs make for better quality time together.

Send us a message to get on the schedule today!

Splish splash, Max was taking a bath.

Max the Belgian Malinois came in for his deshed and was an absolute gentleman from start to finish. Calm in the tub, steady for the blow out, and patient through brushing. Truly the kind of dog that makes you appreciate what a good grooming experience can look like.

We did a deep bath, thorough blow out, full brush, nails, ears, and cleaned up his paw pads. His coat released beautifully and he left feeling lighter and looking sharp. There’s something really satisfying about seeing that healthy shine come back through.

Thank you to Max’s family for trusting me with him. Dogs like him make this work such a pleasure.

If your double coated pup is due for a reset, send us a message. Deshedding season is officially here.

Miss Jazzie the German Shepherd came for her deshed bath today and she came ready to leave half her coat behind.

German Shepherds have a dense double coat. That means they have a soft undercoat underneath the longer guard hairs you see on top. When that undercoat starts to release, it does not fall out neatly. It gets trapped and builds up, which leads to constant shedding, overheating, and that endless tumbleweed of fur around your house.

A proper deshed bath is more than just soap and water. It includes a thorough wash to loosen dead undercoat, a full blow out to lift and remove it safely, and careful brushing to get out what is ready to go without damaging the top coat.

Today we removed a significant amount of loose undercoat from Jazzie, which will help her regulate temperature better and cut down on shedding at home. Regular deshed services can make a noticeable difference, especially during seasonal coat changes.

If you have a double coated breed like a German Shepherd, Husky, or similar heavy shedder, a deshed bath every few months can help keep their coat healthy and your vacuum slightly less overworked.

I work in the pet industry. I usually say pet sitter or groomer because it sounds simple and people like simple. It fits in conversation better than explaining that my job lives in the in between spaces. I am not a veterinarian. I am not a technician anymore. I am something quieter and more constant. I am the person who shows up when the owners leave.

I don’t carry anesthetic drugs or run lab panels now, but I still carry responsibility. I carry keys to strangers’ homes, feeding schedules written in different handwritings, emergency numbers taped inside cabinets, and the trust of animals who do not know my name yet. I carry the weight of routines that keep hearts beating normally while the humans are away.

I work in the pet industry. I wake up early to let dogs out before the sun finishes stretching. I go to sleep late after one more check in, one more walk, one more reassurance whispered into fur. I clean paws and ears and tear ducts. I brush mats from coats that have not been touched in weeks. I kneel on floors that are not mine and sit quietly with animals who are confused, grieving, anxious, or simply old.

I am there for the awkward moments. The first night without their person. The refusal to eat. The accident on the rug. The pacing. The staring at the door. I talk to them through it. I tell them where their person went and when they will come back, even though I know they do not understand the words. I say it anyway because the tone matters. Presence matters.

I work in the pet industry. I manage medications without the clinic around me. I triple check labels. I set alarms. I watch for side effects and subtle changes in breathing, posture, appetite, and mood. I know which animals need space and
which need pressure and which just need someone to sit on the floor nearby without asking anything of them.

I am a groomer some days. I read bodies through tension in shoulders and tails. I stop before fear turns into panic. I choose comfort over perfection and safety over speed. I send dogs home less polished but still trusting humans. I send cats home alive and dignified, which is not a small thing.

I work in the pet industry. I am paid less than the responsibility suggests. I am expected to be cheerful, flexible, endlessly patient, and emotionally resilient. I am assumed to be doing this for fun. People think I just get to hang out with animals all day. They do not see the emotional bookkeeping. The quiet vigilance. The way your nervous system never fully turns off when you are responsible for living beings who cannot tell you when something is wrong.

I do not do this because it is easy. I do it because I know what happens when care is rushed or absent. I do it because animals deserve continuity, gentleness, and someone who notices the small things. I do it because once you have spent years holding fear and pain and love in your hands, you do not stop knowing how.

I work in the pet industry. When I come home, I still smell like dog and shampoo and the outdoors. I still empty my pockets of leashes and treats and little notes I wrote to myself to remember something important. I still climb into bed with animals who trust me completely. And on their hardest days, when I am not enough to fix everything, I hope that the person who shows up next cares more than they are paid to.

Because that is the work. And it always has been.
