How tough are knitted toys? Chadwick is determined to find out. I've never had a kitten actively try to tear a toy apart like he is. This particular toy is rather worn because it's been a favorite of my cat Caffrey. But despite this, he wasn't able to tear the yarn.

If you wondering what happened to the kittens photographed in my book, all were adopted from Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center. I got an update on one kitten, now known as Bandana, who is featured on the back cover of the book. She is doing well and enjoying her new forever family. I have attached an outtake photo from a photo shoot for the book along with a recent photo her mom sent me. She hasn't changed!

The print version is officially on Amazon! I am working on an ebook version, but that is having formatting issues. It will probably take me a week or more to work out the bugs.

And if you're truly interested in making cat toys, all you need is a 12-peg flower loom, yarn and super glue. Any super glue will work, but the type with the brush applicator works best. I have linked to where you can get supplies online (since we are all trapped in our homes). I find the yarn is cheaper at Michaels than Amazon (you need Bulky or Super Bulky). And while not required, 15mm bells and pipe cleaners are recommended. You might find these things elsewhere.

And for anyone concerned about the safety of the toys, I do include a lot of tips on how to test toys to ensure they are safe and have tested them on hundreds of kittens. (I foster a lot of kittens.)

Knitting for Kittens is in the homestretch! I am putting on the final touches and will be uploading it to Amazon and other publishers in the next couple of weeks. This is a rough version of my cover. Sadly. Minx got bumped from the cover for this guy, who is my current foster kitten.
