Heartland Kennels We are an all breed pet boarding and grooming facility. We offer a variety of services including:
boarding, day boarding, grooming, bathing, and retail.

We are completely family owned and operated and have been in business since 2002!

Just a quick reminder:
All animals MUST be up to date on shots when coming in for boarding or grooming. We understand that some vets can be difficult to get into, however, that does not change our policy. If your vet can’t get you in before your reservation or grooming appointment we recommend that you find a vaccine clinic to get your pet the required vaccines or reschedule your visit. If you arrive for your pet’s reservation or grooming appointment with expired shots, they will not be able to stay. There are no exceptions.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

We are CLOSED 1/31-2/12!
There will be no: office hours, emails, phone calls, text messages, or online portal access during this time.
The kennel and office hours (online portal access, phone calls, emails etc) resume like normal on 2/12. Grooming resumes on 2/17.

Attention customers, please read!
Some end of 2024 updates:
-Effective 1/1/2025 we are having a price increase. Dogs will be $25 per dog per day
Cats will be $20 per cat per day
-New/unestablished clients are now required to pay 100% of their reservation at drop off.
-The kennel will be completely closed 1/30/25-2/12/25 (reopening on 2/13/25) Grooming will reopen on 2/17. No animals will be in the facility and no office hours at this time.

Thursday 9/26 our office will be closed!
We are having our driveway and parking lot paved.

If you are scheduled for drop off/pickup tomorrow, someone from the kennel should have already contacted you.

Business will return to normal hours on Friday!

We’d like to extend a huge huge HUGE shout out to everyone of our community members, neighbors, customers, and friends who aided in the search for Remmy.

Remmy was caught on Wyoga Lake Rd by three amazing individuals who recognized her from the hundreds of Facebook shares. Christina Sisak, Nicole Matthews, and Gavin Andrews, (if you know them please tag them!) you guys are absolutely incredible and we can’t thank you enough.

Amber Manes with Ambers Ark Lost and Found and RubberCity Rescue, thank you for your help with tracking and setting up the trap for Remmy. These are both nonprofit organizations and work only on a volunteer basis, what you folks do is absolutely unreal. You guys are animal heroes.

To every single person who shared, posted, searched, and aided in any way, we appreciate you more than you can ever imagine. This was an absolute nightmare for us and Remmy’s family. We couldn’t ask for a better community to be a part of.

Update: REMMY HAS BEEN CAUGHT!!

7/17 Remmy Update:
We are working with Amber Manes of Amber’s Ark and RubberCity Rescue to help bring Remmy home. We have a good idea of where she is and there is a trap set.

We are asking everyone to please avoid the area behind Walsh Jesuit for the time being. We don’t want to scare her off. We appreciate everyone’s help so far in our search.

UPDATE: REMMY HAS BEEN CAUGHT!!

We are urgently asking for our neighbors and community’s help in bringing home one of our customers. Through a series of truly unfortunate events, Remmy escaped our facility shortly after she was dropped off for grooming. She was last spotted by Walsh Jesuit. We’ve had many people out searching for her since she escaped but we’ve had no luck. We are offering a significant reward for her safe return.

She escaped from 4487 State Road Cuyahoga Falls. Was last spotted off of Wyoga Lake Road at Walsh Jesuit High School.

We have been in contact with many recovery teams and we are currently working with Amber’s Ark. We have also been in contact with many drone pilots and we have been told that unfortunately, the area that she was last seen is so densely wooded that it would be almost impossible to see her with a drone.

Remmy is a white/cream doodle, she’s a rescue and very nervous around people. We ask if she’s spotted to not chase her, but to call us immediately at 330-928-3705.

Attention customers:
Due to the amount of new clients that cannot pay their bill upon pick up, we will be requiring all new customers to pay a 50% deposit at the time of drop off. We will require the deposit until we have established a solid history with the client.

We apologize for the inconvenience but after several instances of this happening, we have decided to make this effective immediately.

It’s been over a year that this sweet girl has been with us. Please help us find her a home!
Leia is around 4 years old, spayed, up to date on shots, house trained and knows her basic commands.
She absolutely loves people but has shown fence aggression with other dogs and has not been tested around kids or cats.
This girl is truly so so sweet and deserves a home. As much as we love her, a kennel is not a home.

As 2023 comes to a close we want to take a moment and thank our customers for another incredible year! Thank you for sharing your pets with us and allowing us to do what we love!

We are having a price increase this coming year, dogs will be $23 per day and cats will be $17 per day.

Grooming prices are also going up $5.

I do apologize for our lack of posting this year, I had a baby in June and completely neglected the page after that, I’ll do better next year! 💙

We can’t wait to see you all in 2024!

Our Story

Vicki & Ed Tonelli (Owners) & Kylie Tonelli (Manager)

Our story is pretty simple. It was a blind jump of faith by our two owners. Long story short, it came available for purchase and (somehow) Vicki convinced Ed to jump into a business that they had basically no experience in. It turned out to be the best and most exciting thing they could have done. We’ve been family owned and operated since 2002, and we love what we do!
