Other than ear scratches, kisses, and hearing “good” in a baby voice, nothing about the grooming process is “normal” from a dog’s perspective. I love seeing the difference the youth size firing range ear muffs make for dogs that are anxious during drying. For the dogs that will wear them it’s like magic - p**f 🪄 much less anxiety from the hv dryer

If you are in Anderson or Pendleton, are displaced from flooding and need help with your pets please reach out. Bark Alley can help with small animal boarding and care and possibly a couple large friendly dogs. Our space is limited but we want to help. I’ve been through some devastating flooding and I’ve seen how people will put themselves in danger for the pets. We’ve got you. Message Bark Alley or call 765-559-5499. UPDATE: We have been informed we must evacuate the entire building ASAP! We will take any and all help you have to offer.

🚨 URGENT PLEA FOR HELP — WE NEED OUR COMMUNITY RIGHT NOW. 🚨

We are currently caring for roughly 300 dogs and cats, and we have been told that the water is expected to continue rising and may breach our building.

We have to prepare for the possibility that we may need to evacuate every single animal in our care.

And right now, we do not have enough crates to do that.

🚨 WE NEED CRATES — ALL SIZES

If you have a dog crate, cat carrier, kennel, or transport crate of ANY size sitting in your garage, basement, barn, shed — anywhere — PLEASE bring it to the shelter as soon as possible.

We need enough crates to safely transport hundreds of animals off-site if evacuation becomes necessary.

🚨 WE NEED SANDBAGS

If you have sandbags, access to sandbags, or a connection to someone who can get them, we need as many as we can get delivered to the shelter immediately.

If you know a business, contractor, municipality, farmer, organization, or anyone else who may have access to them, please start making calls.

🚨 WE NEED FOSTERS

Every animal we can safely move into a foster home is one less animal we may have to evacuate in an emergency.

If you have ever considered fostering, this is the moment we need you.

We are preparing for the worst while hoping and praying it does not come to that.

But with roughly 300 lives depending on us, we cannot wait until the water is at the door to figure out what we’re going to do.

We need every kind of help we can get right now.

It’s Spa Day!!! Ellie Mae is such a cutie! Today was her first time at Bark Alley so her visit was mostly focused on getting comfortable in the new environment and building trust. I got a couple kisses so I think I won her over. 🐾❤️
