Riverside Veterinary Clinic is a full service mixed animal practice. We are committed to excellence in patient care, owner experience and owner education.

Since 1974, Riverside Veterinary Clinic has been proud to work for the people and animals of Pendleton and it's surrounding communities. We offer veterinary care for the family members that enrich your lives and those that your livelihood rely on. We provide a wide array of services for your dogs, cats, horses and cattle. For the latter two we offer in clinic and on farm diagnostic and therapeutic

services. We utilize a range of technologies in the practice that include digital radiography, digital ultrasound, laser surgery and in-house blood testing. We focus on continual education of our staff, veterinarians and the clientele that employ our services. When necessary we can provide referral to places like Washington State University's Veterinary Teaching Hospital and the Idaho Equine Hospital and also serve as a referral for some local area practitioners. Dr. Mathews will be leaving us on September 30th. We wish her the very best in her future pursuits in veterinary health services.

We are beginning the process of finding a veterinarian to join us, but do expect this will take time.

As we look ahead to October there will be some very noticeable changes to our operations and operational schedule.

Starting the week of September 29th the small animal clinic will be closed on Fridays. For small animal appointments please call us at 541-276-4270.

Large animal services through, Performance Equine and Livestock, will be available Monday through Thursday. Select, Friday appointments will be available based on my personal schedule. For large animal appointments please call or text us at 541-379-0953.

Emergency service schedules will be unchanged.

I am making these changes to maintain a healthy personal and professional balance, for myself and my staff, while providing high quality care for your animals. When we are able to hire another veterinarian, we will resume a Monday through Friday schedule.

I appreciate your understanding as we return to a single doctor practice.

We had a great time at the Oregon High Desert Classics. Thank you to the wonderful staff and especially Paul Jewell for giving us the opportunity to work. These horses are some amazing athletes. Looking forward to the next session.

Phone update:

Thank you so much to Uni-Tech for getting us running again on ClearFly. We're still getting some bugs worked out, so you might be receiving calls from us that come across as "restricted." We should have that cleared up over the next week or so.

We did find out that a neighbor had buried a phone box that was on their property resulting in corrosion of the phone lines.

Moral of the story: if a phone box is not cosmetically appealing, you might contact the phone company before taking actions on your own.

All:

The weekend has brought some expected changes. I am sorry that we have had to cancel all scheduled elective procedures and routine dental cleanings. I will also apologize for the discomfort to come as we review all currently scheduled appointments to determine if you can come in.

Due to the newest executive order 20-12, we will be limiting appointments to urgent care, emergency and animals in new series vaccines. Patients that are due for rabies vaccination will be admitted as well.

I will review all others and make the final determination. If in doubt staff has been instructed to utilize an in house "client to do" list. I will review it daily. The basic question that will be addressed is, "Can it wait for 3 months?"

I ask for you all to be patient as we progress through the challenges ahead. Please know that your health and the health of your pets and livestock is our number one priority.
