We offer specials and sales when our suppliers, breeders, and wholesalers offer the same specials and discounts. We believe that, if we save ordering the fish you request, then the customer should receive the very same savings.
More importantly, a lot of the fish we sell at the shop live their best lives in schooling groups. Fish like tetras, rasboras, minnows, rice fish, corydoras, etc are recommended to be housed in groups of six or more for many reasons. When we offer a sale or special to purchase six or more of an item and you receive a discount, that is your reward for being a super duper fishy parent! Your fish will live in a group, feel safe and secure, and might even breed for you.
Other fish, like African cichlids for instance, can be expensive depending on the variety you choose. Also, due to their aggressive nature, housing them can be a little difficult regarding temperament, s*x, size, etc. So, when we offer a sale or special regarding cichlids, again, itâs for the customers benefit.
Why shouldnât our customers save money? We arenât here to be millionaires, we are here for the love of the hobby. Both partners of this company have been in the fish hobby for over 30 years each and we plan on staying here til we retire, and maybe even then, we might still be here.
Our prices are extremely reasonable and donât fluctuate. We strive to provide excellent quality, fair prices, and even special order fish as much as we can for our customers when we can track them down through our many reliable, honest resources.
So, when you see a sale or special, itâs only to benefit you, the customer. And, quite honestly, our customers are not just customers, they are fish hobbyists like us, fish lovers in fact. We take the time to get to know our customers, what types of tanks they have, what they stock, etc. We talk about aquascaping, breeding, exchange photos, favorite fishtubersâŚwe have fun! And those experiences are 100 times better than the earnings we generate here. We are here, every single day, even Monday when we are closed, feeling our fish, checking our tanks, doing water changes, and caring for the very same fish we sell to our fellow hobbyists.
