When you want to be famous, I’m going to make you famous.
Last night the mother of the family who had adopted Kane for 24 hrs and returned him for the grabbing/nipping/biting decided to text me on my personal phone to basically speak poorly of me. Apparently she still wants a voice in what happens with Kane and wants to tell me what I’m not good at, like I’m a s**tty trainer because at 8 weeks when he went to his first home he wasn’t completely trained. Apparently hers are trained by 8 weeks. Apparently because Kane has been good here it’s only because I’m a man. Well he’s handled and worked every day by my female trainer. So the house he went to had all females, maybe their experience with shepherds is only house deep. Can’t speak to a breed understanding when the sample size is tiny. She asked me if I looked up her cousin which I told her I did not, that was the wrong answer. I was told of his knowledge and that I didn’t know anything. She told me that without him, her and I would never own shepherds. I believe she over stepped and forgot a huge contributor of the breed Max von Stephanitz. Then was told, well I mean there were no police dogs until her cousin. Funny they were used in the First World War in the early 1900s and the second in the 40s. As you can probably tell she was getting a little miffed with my responses. She pretty much attacked me from every angle. I probably said 4-5 times I have it from here and Kane is my responsibility, and I’m responsible for his outcome in his new home. I’m going to put this out there. When you enjoy a breed that’s great, when you have owned a couple that’s wonderful, when you think you are an expert because of the few you owned, don’t. Don’t do that to your self. Don’t do it to someone who lives with more shepherds than you will have in a lifetime. Don’t do it to the guy that built his business on the breed you question, don’t do that with the guy who researches his bloodlines and hand picks the dogs he wants for his program. Don’t force your philosophy on me and tell me I am terrible because I wouldn’t give your philosophy a try. Don’t begin to think you know me because you held onto a dog I bred for 24 hrs and then feel free to tell me how my s**t is going to go down. Don’t ever think that your knowledge is greater than mine because you owned one or five. Do not tell me how much you understand the breed and then send me a picture of a bite so unimpressive that it didn’t break skin or need medical attn. It may have hurt but if you know the breed so well you realize a beast so nasty would have opened you up pretty well. Who are you to me, nobody. I never sold to you, he never should have been advertised by a shelter so you never should have adopted him. You have never trained with me, so in truth you know nothing about me but claimed you did in your insulting texts. Never put yourself in a situation where someone’s knowledge will destroy the little bit you hold dear. Your experience and expertise speaks volume to Kanes departure from your home. Next time you want to start an argument with someone, do your homework. Wrong guy, wrong subject.
