🔥 Moxibustion (Moxa) for Senior Pets 🔥

In this sweet senior Pekingese named Dulce, we are combining acupuncture with moxibustion (moxa), a gentle warming therapy using dried mugwort herb.

The moxa is being applied near Kidney 1 (K1), a grounding acupuncture point traditionally used to support vitality, circulation, and overall energy. In geriatric and debilitated patients, warming this point may help improve comfort, mobility, and quality of life.

The additional needles placed between the toes stimulate Jing-Well points, helping promote the flow of Qi and supporting the body’s natural healing response.

As pets age, they often become colder, weaker, and less active. The gentle warmth of moxa can be especially beneficial for senior pets experiencing chronic weakness, arthritis, or age-related decline.

Jax is a 12-year-old senior dog recovering from a torn ACL. While surgery is often recommended for these injuries, many families with senior pets find themselves weighing the potential benefits of surgery against the risks associated with age, recovery time, and overall quality of life.

To help support Jax’s comfort and mobility, we’ve incorporated acupuncture and kinesiotaping into his treatment plan—and he’s already showing improvement! ❤️

Rocky was unable to walk and remained lateral recumbent due to a cervical herniated disc. Surgery wasn’t an option and conventional treatments were not helping. After over a month lying on his side, we started acupuncture therapy.

Acupuncture helps reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and stimulate the nervous system. Immediately after treatment, Rocky began to respond.

Reunited with sweet, handsome boy Leo after two years! 🐾

Leo is a brave little Chihuahua who I first treated a few years ago for intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). After spending time abroad, he is finally back, and I was so excited to see him again and continue supporting his care.

What touched me the most is that he remembered me. The moment he heard my name, he got so excited — just like he used to. Moments like this remind me why I love what I do. The bond we build with our patients truly lasts.

For months, Coquito had low energy, seemed sore, was quiet, and had urinary accidents. After many vet visits with no success, he started acupuncture and laser therapy.

After just the first session he felt better. With the next two, he became playful, energetic, ate and slept better and the accidents stopped.

Acupuncture didn’t just help, it gave Coquito his quality of life back. 💕😃🐾
