A gorgeous mother and her babies! This fantastic species is called a Black and White Ruffed lemur. All lemurs are endemic to Madagascar and due to habitat destruction are critically endangered. This is a photo from the farm of one of our staff members. All of us here at cold blooded shop work very hard in the shop and at home with all kinds of wildlife bringing a wide range of experience to forefront trying to set a new industry standard for larger reptiles companies. With a diversified staff we conquer animal husbandry in a way that allows us to share some of the rarest and healthiest reptiles out there. For us it’s not a race to get animals out the door it’s a passion to make sure all of them prosper!

Common basilisk - Basiliscus basiliscus
Unlike the Brown basilisk we find here in Florida as an invasive species this common basilisk like its cousin the green basilisk will get a giant crest on its head back and tail(males having much larger crests). This species has specialized adaptations that allow quite a long sprint on top of a body of water. With its fringed scales on the toes and the pure speed at which they move in a bipedal fashion they are able to create small air pockets at the waters surface. All of this combined with the large feet and those specialized scales increasing the surface area they have the ability to do amazing things to escape predators. Running a short distance over the water and then a dive into safety. Unseen in the hobby for quite some time we are happy to reintroduce this amazing species.

Barnett's lancehead - Bothrops barnetti
Here at cold blooded shop we now have a venomous reptiles section being built into the website as we speak for the responsible experienced keepers. We hope to have this done by the weekend and have an opportunity to bring rare and gorgeous species into the industry/hobby. This section will be for zoos, and private sector alike.

Black-Webbed Flying Frog - Rhacophorus reinwardtii
Talk about an incredible species! You should really see these guys in action where they live if you get the chance. Heavily adapted canopy dwellers that rarely come down from the treetops. They can hit quite the distance with a jump but in a pinch with predators afoot these amazing amphibians fully spread their gorgeous webbed feet and take the leap of faith. With aerodynamic bodies and arms legs and webs fully extended they can glide almost the same distance as the drop itself. These modified limbs also help to slow the descent and act as a mini parachute to reduce impact…. Nature is amazing!

Juvenile Indonesian Sailfin Dragons - Hydrosaurus microlophus, a shop favorite here and by far one of the most rewarding species to raise. These are known to be the heaviest and longest of the sailfins and are absolutely gorgeous as juveniles and blossom into amazing adults. Zhangixalus Arboreus also know as the Kinugasa flying frog in the family Rhacophoridae endemic to Japan. Rarely seen in our Industry. Here at Cold Blooded Shop we currently have 5 different locales ranging from Shiga, Kyoto, Mie, ishikawai and Izu in hopes to bring about captive breeding programs of this incredible species. We are very excited to see what the industry does now that we finally have these species here in the U.S.
