🌟Student Spotlight🌟Blanch

Blanch is what we call a “collar shy” or “gear shy” dog. A collar-shy dog feels uncomfortable, fearful, or defensive when hands reach toward their neck, collar, leash, etc.

Resistance to collars and other training gear is often rooted in uncertainty. With the right approach, dogs can learn to feel safe and confident during this process. The goal isn’t to force compliance. It’s to build trust and teach dogs that a hand reaching towards them predicts good things.

Blanch and her owners are my favorite!!! I love this team so much. We’ve been working really hard training together, and while we’re still not done, things are starting to click. You guys make me so proud 🫶 the best is yet to come for you.
