I got to go for a short walk by myself after walking with my foster bros tonight (foster mom messed up and forgot to take her HOA dues with her to drop off on the first walk😜) - mom says she’s proud of how well I’m walking without Oliver and Leo there to guide me, pace me, and keep me from zigzagging across the street!
Zany Zander has come quite a ways since arriving here in Pekin a month ago. He walks well on leash, in a decent heel most days, and he’s gotten SO much better at door dashing/darting. Perfect? No. But much better, and we are continuing to work on it. We’ve had no further accidents since the 3 in the first 2 weeks, and he sleeps well in a crate all night! He’s all kennel trained during the day - and has done well up to 9-10h!!! (I don’t do that regularly, just when I can’t get home at lunch to let him out). He does have a fondness for stray socks 😜, but we have also had no issues with chewing up furniture - I would highly recommend an endless supply of Nylabones though 😂 truly, he’s a gem of a puppy - well behaved but lots of puppy energy. And at 9mo old, we’re almost halfway through the puppy and baby TRex/adolescent phases 😂
Zander is neutered and up to date on shots and flea/tick/heartworm protection. He is available for adoption through Homeward Bound Waggin, Inc, - they encourage foster to adopt, as well, or “try before you buy” if you will. And while they are located in Quincy IL, he is here in Pekin, and I am willing to travel around the central IL area - west to east - to help him find the perfect home. We can work with you to complete necessary paperwork remotely if need be!
