Meet Slick!
Slick was discovered roaming loose in Peoria alongside another dog and was brought to us under a stray hold. After remaining unclaimed, he began his path toward a new beginning. Since his arrival, Slick has displayed signs of reactivity toward other dogs. However, we are optimistic that after his neutering and moving to a less stressful environment, no longer residing in a shelter, he may improve his interactions with other dogs. Slick has not been exposed to children or cats during his time here, so we cannot predict how he will react to them at this time. He is a lively boy with a great enthusiasm for playing fetch!

Meet Oddy!
Oddy was rescued after being discovered wandering in Peoria with another dog. Since his arrival, he has begun to show reactivity towards other dogs. We are hopeful that after being neutered and in a home setting versus a kennel setting, he will do better with other dogs. He hasn't had any interactions with cats or children while in our care, so we cannot predict how he will respond to them at this time. Oddy maintains his space relatively clean, but we believe he would thrive even more in a home environment. He is quite an energetic dog and will require an owner who can match his enthusiasm!

Meet Tofu!
Tofu was surrendered to us due to some behavioral challenges she exhibited at home. Since arriving here, she has generally gotten along with the cats in her room. She appears to be indifferent towards the dogs she encounters around the clinic, often choosing to move away from them. Tofu enjoys receiving treats from some of the employees' children, which suggests she would likely do well with loving kids who respect her need for space. You can often find Tofu curled up in a high spot or tucked away in a cozy nook, happily napping.

Meet Sparrow!
Sparrow was an employee's foster who was taken in after being rejected by his mother. After receiving some much-needed care and attention, he has been neutered and has begun his kitten vaccinations. Although Sparrow is small, he possesses the heart of a panther and enjoys darting around and pouncing on his toys. He hasn't had much interaction with other animals yet, but given his young age, we believe he will adapt well. Meet Lily!
Lily’s story is one of resilience and second chances. Brought into the clinic after ingesting a quilt she required surgery, which led her owners to contemplate euthanasia. Instead, they decided to let us take her in and see if we could give her a second chance! Lily is an exceptionally sweet canine companion. While she’s still overcoming her timid nature—often hitting the deck when startled—her true personality shines through as she gradually emerges from her shell. Her endearingly quirky side is making an appearance more and more often. Lily keeps her area nice and tidy and does great with a cot. However, we do not give her any blankets or toys with stuffing due to her history of eating things. She seems to be doing good around other dogs and has been indifferent when she has seen cats in passing. Lily is ready to bring joy and love to a family willing to embrace her gentle spirit and help her continue to grow in confidence.

UPDATE - ADOPTED! 💙

Meet Apollo
Apollo was initially brought to us for boarding with his three housemates after his owners experienced a house fire. Eventually with nowhere to take the dogs, the owner turned to euthanasia. We instead discussed relinquishment so we could give them their second chance! Apollo does great with other dogs and shares his space with his long time roommate, Harley, he can be a little timid and shy around new dogs. He hasn’t had a lot of interactions with cats, but the few times he has seen them in passing he becomes very interested and tries to initiate play. He is a tidy boy and likes to keep his area clean. This lazy boy is looking for a couch to surf and someone to shower him with attention!

Meet Athena
Athena was initially brought to us for boarding with her three housemates after her owners experienced a house fire. Eventually with nowhere to take the dogs, the owner turned to euthanasia. We instead discussed relinquishment so we could give them their second chance! Athena does well with other dogs, but does tend to enjoy her own space. She hasn’t had very many up close interactions with cats so we are still unsure how she does with them. If you’re looking for an active young girl to keep up with you, Athena could be your perfect fit!

Meet Harley
Harley was initially brought to us for boarding with her three housemates after her owners experienced a house fire. Eventually with nowhere to take the dogs, the owner turned to euthanasia. We instead discussed relinquishment so we could give them their second chance! Harley is pretty good about keeping her area clean and enjoys her bed and blankets. She does good with other dogs and previously shared a home with other dogs. She hasn’t been properly introduced to cats, so we are unsure about how she does with them. This old girl is just looking for a nice family that will give her the second chance she deserves, and a nice yard to sunbathe in!
