We have no need to ever worry about predators in our little rabbitry. We have an attack wren who has taken residence in an old bun hut. She ain't scaret o' nothin! Peck your eye out in a second 👀

I have to brag on our mini-rexs. Last year Evergreen Lodge's Kyoto had a fantastic year. We were so saddened to lose him in early August. However, his kits went on to have fantastic 4H show records this year. Evergreen Lodge's Bartholomew was Best of Show at Cumberland Fair, then Evergreen Lodge's Green Bean was Best of show at Salem's county show. Salem's invitational was won by yet another one of his kits, Evergreen Lodge's Kurt Batten with owner and handler Jade Batten. She took home a nice Best of Show trophy with Kurt. Evergreen Lodge's Final Rose took home Gloucester County Fair's Best of show. She is unrelated to Kyoto but will soon be bred to Bartholomew. Banner year for Kyoto's kits and our tiny south Jersey rabbitry.

Evergreen Lodge's Bruce had quite a fair week as a 4 month old. Bruce was Best of Breed Netherland Dwarf at the county and invitational show. We've worked with Mini-Rex for a couple of years now, but this is our first homegrown Netherland Dwarf to hit the show table. He is still working on his posing but he's got the calmest demeanor. He is such a cute little opal buck. 🤎

Congratulations Drew and Green Bean, Best of Show with his Mini-Rex. Then his junior buck, Netherland Dwarf, Bruce placed Best of Breed over 9 other Netherlands, with his jr.doe sister, Ivy, coming in Reserve Best of Breed and shown hy his friend Jade. Over all a fantastic day, and we were blessed with some rabbits that had some great coats for August. Congratulations to all the kids. I saw some amazing rabbits on the show table today. Salem County you rocked it. 💚
