Here is a short checklist of common causes of start up failure issues for small engines and generators. Of all these issues, bad fuel is easily the most common cause. If you are planning to store a generator, be sure that you turn off the fuel valve and let your generator use every bit of fuel that is in the carburetor bowl! More often than not, a person will shut off their generator, and turn off the fuel supply before storage. This allows a small amount of fuel to sit in the carburetor bowl, which will inevitably go bad and cause varnish buildup on all the jets and the bowl.
If you are having issues with your generator, feel free to contact us! We offer mobile emergency generator and small engine service to get you running for $150. If further maintenance or parts are needed, we can take care of that too! Stay warm, stay inside!
