Why choose an in-home sitter?
In-home sitters specifically travel to YOUR family home to care for your critter while they remain in their own familiar environment, drastically decreasing the risk of separation anxiety + even threats to the physical health of your fur baby! When boarding, you always have the slightest chance of injury or illness (doggy daycares, mishandling slip leads, kennel cough, fence fighting, etc.), and keeping your fur baby at home completely eliminates any chance of that happening. When you keep your critter at home, your pet gets to continue their own personal routine as they would any other regular day! Packing them up and hauling them to a facility can already be very stressful for some pets, and if that’s not enough, once they’re stuck in a little box for majority of the day they are at a much higher risk of developing temporary or permanent signs of anxiety.
It seems that over the recent years, lots of pawrents are starting to take note of the fact that their pups naturally feel better remaining in their own space. I have had a lot of clients reach out to me after boarding for years, looking for a change for their fur baby and loving what they see afterwards! Sure, home alone can be boring, but so can sitting in a kennel for hours until your next potty break! With the large amount of pets boarding within these facilities all at the same moment, your fur baby can realistically only be promised so much time! For example, Most large-scale boarding facilities offer up to three potty + play breaks per day, typically at 15min but ranging up to 30 if we’re lucky. The Critter Sitter policy is always a visit at LEAST 30mins, with full hour visits available as well, up to three times per day! While the fur baby is chilling at home! Sounds pretty good to me! 🤩
Of course, boarding is still a great choice when headed out of town, but it is important to get familiar with your facility and it’s operations to make sure you are truly pleased with the routine your fur baby will follow! Spending years in kennels myself before starting my business, I can honestly vouch and say that some pups truly do thrive in the environment. But, I can also honestly say that some pups made it obvious that boarding does not fit their lifestyle + comfortability threshold, and sadly not many boarding facilities will be candid and tell you when you shouldn’t come back, only in consideration for the pup’s happiness. All in all, it is wonderful to now have so many options for your critter’s care, and I highly suggest you trying out the variety to find the pawfect service for your unique fur baby!💕🐾
