Emma wanted to sit on Dottie, then help with grooming. However, no barefeet near horse hooves, so she had to stand on a chair for grooming. Dottie is such a sweet heart, at times.

Fence repairs in progress, just running a couple of barb wires across for now. Every time it rains, some tree comes and takes the cable down. The grass and weeds are so tall, you can't tell where the bank drops off util you step there.

Just a horse out grazing by the road, photo by our neighbor Carrie. Yes, it is Copper, but he gets a pass this time. The creek had taken out part of the flood gap. He just happened to be the only horse that found the hole. And he was already back in by the time I got there.

Summer school for Louis and time for a dose of Safeguard de-wormer. He was a little rusty on leading, but came around. He gets groomed and fly sprayed when it is too hot for halter lessons.

Our summer schedule revolves around hay. Mowing, raking, baling, and hauling work best when not raining. We've had a lot of weather forecasts with rain chances, so it makes planning our week challenging.

I could hear foal whinnies from the barn when I went to feed. The horses are shut out of the barn. They do get to hang out in a shed along the barn and bored horses like to find trouble. There is a small calf door between the shed and barn that had gotten open, then Louis and Cami managed to enter a stall and close the door behind them. I got them out and they raced to their mothers for a snack.

On this particular day, Louis was being a bully to Cameo. She is much smaller, but so much quicker than him. If she really wanted him to stop, all she has to do is go to her mama. Millie would snarl or go after Louis for being too close.
