🐾 At Harmony Dog Training, we work with all dogs — yes, even the ones who’ve been called “too much,” “too difficult,” or “untrainable.”
You’ve probably heard terms like nervous, reactive, or selective before. Here’s what they really mean:
🐕 Nervous: Dogs who feel uneasy or anxious in certain situations. They might hang back, avoid eye contact, or shy away from new things. They’re not being “stubborn” — they’re just unsure.
🐕 Reactive: Dogs who respond to triggers (other dogs, people, bikes, noises) with big emotions — barking, lunging, or pulling. This doesn’t always mean aggression. Often, it’s fear, frustration, or over-excitement spilling over.
🐕 Selective: Dogs who enjoy some company but not all. They may love certain dogs or people, and prefer to avoid others. Just like us, they don’t have to be friends with everyone to live a happy, balanced life.
💡 Here’s the important part — none of these labels mean a dog is “bad.” They simply tell us what that dog needs to feel safe, understood, and successful.
At Harmony, we create structured, supportive environments where every dog — from the confident extrovert to the “little extra” introvert — has the chance to learn, grow, and thrive.
Because training isn’t about changing who they are… it’s about helping them be the best version of themselves. 💛
