For those who know me, you know what a difficult journey Rowyn’s loss has been. This June marks one year since her presence left our home, and not a day goes by that she isn’t missed.

In honor of her, we’re continuing what we hope becomes a lasting tradition with the 2nd Annual Rowyn’s Ripple – Empty the Shelter Event. ❤️

Every dog currently available for adoption through Chino Valley Animal Shelter will have their adoption fees fully covered through the month of June until they find their forever homes. In addition, every adopter will receive 3 free nights of boarding at Rolling Hills Stables & Canine Resort.

Rowyn gave us nearly 10 years of unconditional love, loyalty, and joy. We were some of the lucky ones. Now, we hope to create ripples in her honor by helping other families find that same kind of love.

Please help us make a ripple. Share this post, spread the word, and help these deserving pups find the homes they’ve been waiting for.

For Rowyn. For rescue. For the love that never stops rippling. Because the best way I can honor the dog who changed my life…is to help change the life of another. 🐾 🤍

𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐞, 𝐀𝐙 – The Yavapai County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a suspect following a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal narcotics.

On Tuesday, November 19, 2025, at approximately 4:45 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a driver around I-17 & Middle Verde Rd. During the interaction, K9 Radar was deployed and positively alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed approximately 70,000 fentanyl pills that were concealed.

The suspect, Jose Urquianeriz, was immediately taken into custody. The suspect had two young children, under 6 years of age, inside the vehicle at the time of the felony drug trafficking.

Urquianeriz was arrested for:

· Possession of Narcotic Drugs
· Sales of Narcotic Drugs
· Transportation of Narcotic Drugs
· Child abuse

"This seizure represents a substantial amount of poison being removed from our streets," said Sheriff Rhodes. "The fact that a suspect was allegedly engaged in felony drug trafficking with two small children present highlights a dangerous level of recklessness and disregard for life. We are grateful to the specialized unit for their diligence and prompt response to protect the children involved."

The investigation remains active.

This is one of the hardest posts I’ve ever had to write. My name is Samantha - I own Rolling Hills Stables and Canine Resort.

Mandy and her partner have been abandoned at my boarding facility for over a year. I was hoping her owner would change circumstance and get them but it has been determined this is not a possibility. She came in with her sibling dog, and while they’ve stayed together, their stories are now painfully diverging.

Mandy is a 9-year-old Lab/Chow mix and quite literally one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet. She is:
• Fully potty trained
• Knows how to sit and lay down
• A total cuddle bug
• In love with every human she meets
• Gentle, affectionate, and emotionally soft

She has lived peacefully with her sibling dog (an 8-year-old German Shepherd), but tragically, due to severe aggression, he is scheduled for behavioral euthanasia. There is no safe alternative for him.

💔 But there is still hope for Mandy.

Because she was always housed with her sibling, I have not been able to safely test her with other dogs, as I didn’t want to separate them or create unsafe situations. That said, I am willing to do careful trial runs to see how she does on her own with other dogs if needed. With people, however—she is nothing but love.

I am desperately trying to rehome Mandy into a loving home rather than surrender her to the Humane Society. At her age, shelter life would be incredibly hard, and she deserves comfort, consistency, and peace for the rest of her life.

I wish with my whole heart that I could keep her myself—but I can’t. My personal pack is extremely bonded, and my alpha is not accepting of adult outsiders. This decision is not a lack of love—it’s a matter of safety.

🐾 What Mandy needs:
• A calm, loving home
• Someone who values senior dogs
• A couch, a bed, and a human to love
• Stability for her golden years

If you—or someone you know—can open your heart and home to Mandy, please message me directly. Even sharing this post could be what saves her from spending her final years without a family.

She has already lost so much.
Please help us give her what she deserves
