Private lessons with 7 month old Duncan the Dane. These two are doing amazing!

Private lessons are 90% the client and 10% me. My job is to teach, coach, and provide clear direction, but the real progress happens between lessons.

Consistency, follow-through, and daily practice are what create lasting results.

Graduation day for Maverick is tomorrow.
What started with leash reactivity, pushy behaviors and uncertainty has turned into better communication, accountability and a dog learning how to slow down and listen.
Maverick has come a long way with place, downs, leash manners and impulse control. Now comes the most important part… transferring all of that work to his human.
Dogs don’t stay trained without follow through. Leadership, consistency and clear communication at home is where the real success happens.
Proud of this boy. Time to train the human now.

Private lessons with Dane puppy, Duncan, and his mom are kickin’ butt.
When you’re raising a dog that will be over 100 pounds full grown, clear communication matters.

We’re working on spatial awareness, polite manners, no jumping, listening and learning how to calmly exist around people and guests.

Mom already reports Duncan is listening more, his focus is improving, and he’s becoming much more receptive to her direction.
And we’re only in week two. 👊

Have you given too much affection and not enough direction? Too many rewards while asking nothing in return?

For many dogs, not all, but many… this creates confusion, frustration, pushy behaviors, and dogs that stop listening altogether. Some begin growling, challenging, guarding space, or even trying to bite because there’s no real accountability, structure, or clear communication guiding them through life.

Love alone is not leadership.

Dogs need affection, but they also need direction, follow through, boundaries, and calm accountability.

When we allow constant pushiness, ignore disrespectful behaviors, or fail to clearly communicate, many dogs are left carrying too much responsibility themselves. That uncertainty creates stress.

A lot of behavior problems are not because the dog is “bad.” They’re often the result of unclear communication and a lack of guidance.

Rewarding everything without teaching how to handle pressure, respect space, listen, and follow through can leave a dog mentally unsettled instead of confident.

Clear leadership creates freedom. Structure creates clarity. Accountability creates trust.
