ATTENTION WESTCHESTER COUNTY & PUTNAM COUNTY, NEW YORK!!!

Behavior Vets and PawsCrossed Animal Rescue are proud to bring you this 90 Minute Workshop!

Behavior Vets Behavior Consultant Misa Martin is presenting on all things Puppy!

To Celebrate Misa, will be bringing you a brand new puppy tip every week, leading up to the event!

"Some behaviors are easy to name (think: "Go potty!" j-u-s-t as your puppy begins to eliminate on her potty spot) and others take some repetitions before you and your puppy will understand each other. Saying, "Go to bed" when your puppy has another plan in mind will be confusing for them and slow your training down. Looking out for good things your puppy is doing and rewarding them as they happen (how about right as your puppy steps in to her crate?) will make more sense to your young learner and speed up their learning."

Join us for Puppy Planning; A Sane, Simple Guide for Living and Learning With Your New Best Friend

We will cover everything from choosing your new friend, socialization, manners, enrichment, common puppy issues and provide fantastic resources for new puppy parents!

This is a HUMAN ONLY event.

BEHAVIOR TALK - A Facebook Live Series

Live Q & A with Dr. Tu and Jeanne

You worked so hard with your puppy, and they were doing great. Suddenly, they’re acting like you don’t exist. When you find yourself calling your pup “stubborn”, “lazy”, or just plain “unruly” your pup might be in the middle of doggy adolescence. Yes, doggy teenagers can be rebellious too. This period falls between 6 and 24 months of age, or until sexual and social maturity.

Behavior Vets invites you to join Dr. Tu and Jeanne for a discussion on taking your aggravating adolescent to an amazing adult! What can you do to address unruly behavior in your pup? What games and enrichment are appropriate at this stage? What do you do if your pup shows new fears towards things they were not afraid of before? How do you turn your frustration with your teen pup into a time of enjoyment and working together? What does abnormal adolescence look like, and when should you seek professional advice?

Dr. Andrea Y. Tu (DVM) is the Medical Director at Behavior Vets. She currently serves as a board member and veterinary consultant with PAWS NY, an outreach group working to preserve, support, and nurture the human-animal bond for New York City’s most vulnerable residents.

Jeanne Clune (CPDT-KA) is a Behavior Consultant for Behavior Vets. She was also the Director of Behavior & Enrichment at the SPCA of Westchester.

Join us for a Live Q & A on Thursday, October 22nd at 1:30-2:15pm EST, right here on our Behavior Vets page!

Teaching this class for Behavior Vets! Calling all wild adolescent pups and those that just forgot all their manners to join me!

BEHAVIOR VETS IS OFFERING ON-DEMAND, VIRTUAL CLASSES!

Quaran-Teen Spirit: From Aggravating Adolescent to Amazing Adult!

Like most adolescent teens, puppies between the ages of 6 to 18 months are experiencing hormonal and physiological changes that can cause different behaviors to arise. During this developmental stage, your puppy is likely to test certain rules and boundaries, experience an increase in energy at odd times, and have difficulty regulating their emotions.

During this course, we’ll help you manage any new or existing behaviors that you are having difficulty with and teach new, alternative and more appropriate behaviors.

This course includes:

Reviewing and learning new cues and behaviors
Learning to manage unwanted behaviors
Learning the difference between “normal” behavior vs. stress/ fear
Enrichment tips and ideas
Making sure your dogs needs are being met in isolation
Ways to keep up with socialization

$275 for working spots
$99 for auditing spots
