One of the key components of the stop so many riders ask about, is teaching that horse to stay on their hocks through the whole stop, not just the bringing or end.

I start this process early and work on building the muscles and helping that horse to correctly use his body to do so.

As a rider, we fail to see, at times, the transition in so many of our maneuvers.

Transitions don’t only happen in speed, but they happen in the turnaround, they happen in between obstacles and they even happen between maneuvers.

Be aware of your transitions and making them smoother, not just making them happen.
