Reminder this Thursday!!

The term "bitter" has been used in England to describe pale ale since the early 19th century. Although brewers used the term "pale ale", before the introduction of pump clips, customers in pubs would ask for "bitter" to differentiate it from mild ale; by the end of the 19th century, brewers had begun to use the term as well.

Maryland Homebrew Inc, Mystique Barrel Brewing and Lager House and much more.

The SPBW beer social will be at Maryland Homebrew June 13th 6 to 10.
Mystique Barrel Brewing and Lager House will supply the Pin 5.4 gallons of English Best Bitter Brewed by Les. Hopped with East Kent Goldings and Fuggle hops. Actually, just finished the brew day! This beer should finish around 4.5% ABV and have 36 IBUs. It should have a pleasant earthiness from a late addition of the EKG.

This will be a donation social. We would like to get enough money to at least pay for the ingredients to make the beer. Maybe we can have a bunch of pizzas delivered?

At the last social Ed mentioned he would like to bring some homebrew for the group to try. I thought this was a great idea and would like to include all the homebrewers and not only have a pin from a new startup brewery, but also offer the homebrewers a chance to share their beer.
