How to Keep Your Pets Warm During Winter
Winter can be a dangerous time of the year for pets. More vulnerable pets, such as smaller breeds, short-haired breeds, and older pets are all more sensitive to colder temperatures in the winter. Because of this, it’s super important to make sure your pup or kitty is warm enough as temps drop.
Here are a few ways you can make sure your pet is safe, warm, and cozy this winter.
Look for a good coat
While there are so many different kinds of pet coats for every type of weather, doing a little extra research to make sure you find one that is insulated is ideal for cooler weather. We recommend a weatherproof, well-lined coat that is flexible enough for outdoor activities and exploration.
Limit their time outside
In chilly temperatures, pets have a difficult time regulating their body heat. While they do have to go outside multiple times a day, make sure you’re not keeping them out longer than they need to. If you’re cold outside, they’re probably cold, too!
Take them to doggy daycare
Sometimes, we can’t help but coop our pups up indoors during this season. To help them burn some energy without having to take them out to exercise yourself, you could consider doggy daycare. Planet Doggy is the best option in Pasadena, thanks to its more than 3000 sq ft of dedicated space for playing.
Make sure they’re warm indoors
As soon as you come back in, make sure your pup or cat has everything they need to warm up. A cozy pet bed, a warm blanket, or even some extra snuggles can help to regulate their temperature quickly. An extra cuddle never hurts!
