This year has brought some significant challenges for FURS. After stepping in to help another rescue that was unable to properly care for its ferrets, we welcomed a record number of ferrets into our care during the first few months of the year alone.

In addition, many of the ferrets who have come to us this year have been seniors or have required extensive medical treatment. From surgeries and emergency veterinary care to ongoing treatment for chronic illnesses, our veterinary expenses have reached levels that no amount of regular fundraising or careful budgeting could have anticipated.

As always, we remain committed to helping every ferret that needs us, but we need a little extra help from our community right now.

Happy National Ferret Day!

Today we’re celebrating all the silly, sneaky, noodle-shaped little chaos gremlins that steal our hearts and our socks 💕

Of course.... every day feels like Ferret Day, but today we’re going extra big in honor of these amazing companions. From playful burrowers to sleepy cuddle bugs, ferrets remind us daily how much joy a tiny creature can bring into our lives.

💚 As we celebrate , we also want to take a moment to thank our supporters, volunteers, and adopters who help us give rescued ferrets the second chances they deserve.

Sweet Stitch needs us. ❤️

Stitch is one of the 15 ferrets that Ferrets Unlimited Rescue Services recently took in from another rescue when they needed help. Many of these little ones were likely seeing a vet for the very first time in their lives — and the medical needs have been significant.

Stitch has been living with a large, nasty chordoma on her tail for quite some time. It’s hard for her to get around with it, and you can tell it’s uncomfortable. Despite all of that, she is incredibly sweet and gentle — and she absolutely deserves the chance to live a normal, happy ferret life.

Her surgery is scheduled for tomorrow! In addition to Stitch’s procedure, we did a neuter, and have several dentals, and other medical care lined up in the coming weeks for the rest of this group. Taking in 15 ferrets was a major hit to our finances — and we would do it again in a heartbeat — but again we truly need help.

We are taking care of them… but we can’t do it alone.

Wow. Just wow. 🥹💛
We are still in awe of the turnout for Ferret Fest 2026! Thank you to every single person who came out to support Ferrets Unlimited Rescue Services yesterday. The love in that room was absolutely overwhelming in the best possible way.

A huge thank you to Rookies Sports Bar & Grill for hosting us and for their incredible hospitality. The staff was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect, and they truly made us feel welcome. We are so grateful for community partners like them!

Right now, FURS needs all the support we can get — and our supporters certainly showed up. From buying tickets and raffle baskets to donating and spreading the word, you made this event a success. Your generosity allows us to continue rescuing, providing medical care, and finding loving homes for ferrets who need us most.
And while Ferret Fest was incredible, our work doesn’t stop here. We still need support — through donations, fosters, adopters, and shares. The need is ongoing, and every bit truly makes a difference.

Fifteen. 1️⃣5️⃣. That’s how many new little noodles Ferrets Unlimited Rescue Services just welcomed in.
Recently, we stepped up to help another rescue whose owner is facing serious health issues. When one of us needs help, we show up. That’s what this community does. We have each other’s backs. 💛

But bringing in 15 ferrets at once is no small thing. Vet care. Supplies. Food. Medications. Spay/neuters.... Yes, one needs a snip snip!
